I know what you mean Belwin. I really enjoyed my glucose test the other day. An entire hour without Adam...that was nice  .

Autumnchik wanted me to give an update on Declan he came home on Sunday night looking a little yellowish. In the morning he colour was even more yellow so we took him back to see his doctor, who has his office in the hospital. After seeing Declan and running some tests, we were told that Declan was jaundice so he would have to go under the lights for some colour. They have mom a room close by so she could feed him every 3 hours.

We are both stressed but holding up as well as we can. I would write more but I have to go back to the hospital to be with them both to help feed.

Good luck, I'm sure he'll be improving by the day with the good breastmilk and momma's and daddy's love...

How do you guys sleep at night?

I haven't had a good nights sleep in a couple weeks now. First the bed in TLF wasn't comfortable at all and now that I am sleeping in a really comfortable bed, I am getting paranoid to sleep in the wrong position. I am a side-/backsleeper. I fall asleep on the side but always roll on my back and I know I shouldn't sleep on my back anymore.

I guess I could still sleep on my belly, but that is getting slightly uncomfortable now too.

So I have a few questions: Does it matter on what side I sleep? I know the left side is recommended, does anyone know why?

After how long is it really getting dangerous if I find myself on my back?

Last night I had a pillow between my legs because my knees were hurting and that seemed to work a little bit, but it is not really great either.

Any advice on how to get some good sleep?

Nane, you are only 16 weeks along, your uterus is not heavy enough yet to do any damage to the baby. I find myself waking up on my back all the time but I think I wake up because my body signals me to turn over. I bought a body pillow at Sears (10 bucks) and kinda sleep on it half sideways, half on my belly. You are supposed to sleep on your left most because it doesn't constrict blood supply to the baby, which it apparently does on your right side.

I do sleep on either the left or the right side and as I said, whenever I do wake up on my back then probably because it is uncomfortable and turn around. You will feel it when it's that time and as long as it still feels comfy to sleep on your belly then you can still do so. Whenever it feels like you're laying on a baseball, you won't be doing it anymore anyway

ks...what a precious picture of your little boy!!!

autumnchick...I really hope the jaundice clears up quickly. Keep giving the little guy LOTS of food

eveline...what a cute belly pic. Makes me wish I was still pregnant!!!

My doctor told me that by the time it becomes uncomfortable to sleep on my back, then I shouldn't. So really, by the time you aren't comfortable doing it anymore, then the issue resolves itself.

I wasn't sleeping very well for about 2 months before my son was born. I had persistent back/hip pain during the last months of my pregnancy which made sleeping VERY difficult. I couldn't find a good way to sleep, so I don't have any helpful sleeping tips....sorry!

Thank you for once again great advice. I should change my name into paranoia..lol

It is really great to have some opinions and real life experiences besides what you read in books or the internet.

ks...what a cute boy you are having!!!He is so adorable!!

autumnchick...I hope, your little one is getting better soon. A friend of mine had her baby under those lights and after two days the jaundice cleared up noticably.
