Thanks for the advice, Evi it helped! I went to the airport wearing just my underwear in the car :innocent: , my jeans were killing me. They completely stopped after I had a huge ginger ale.

pheww, I never had them this intense but if its true that braxton Hicks help the dilation process- I want them back!!

I remember the BH contractions at around 38/40 weeks, they do get really painful and uncomfortable. You don't know if it's the real deal or not. Some woke me up at night but they stopped when I turned around.

Hope you have a good time with your mom and maybe she'll get to see little Ben.

I never got to really experience them for what the nurse told me. Its up in your belly or something. I haven't felt a thing. Oh well maybe next time if there is a next time. Ciao amigas

Mommy question: when did you apply for a passport for your baby and if your baby has dual citizenship, which passport do you apply for first? Does he need 2 passports? I'm confused. I was planning on getting all the info on the paperwork in order rather sooner than later. Where do I start?

Where do I register his birth? At the consulate? Thanks in advance if somebody has a link to this or some tips! :star:

My son is a dual citizen of Italy (through me)and the US(by birth), I can tell you what I had to do but it might be different for Germany, I think Eveline will be more of help about the German part than me. I had to register his birth at the Italian consulate of my area (it basically consisted in filling out the pertaining form, along with the original of long form birth certificate, I could do all this by mail). In Italy kids under 16 are written on the parent's or legal guardian's passport, so I had to mail in my Italian passport as well where they added his info under the "children" section. This acts like his Italian passport until he is old enough to have his own, Italy requires this as mandatory when I travel over there, his US passport alone would not be good, so yes in my case he needs 2 passports. For the US passport, I simply went online here where you can find the necessary form+instructions to appy for US passport for a child under 16 yrs of age. I followed the instructions, went and got his passport style pics done (we did them at Kinkos, they are used to do it with infants at least around here) and then to the Post Office. Both parents had to be present if I remember well. It took 6 weeks to get his US passport in the mail, but I think there is an expedite option where you get it much faster but it costs a lot more (it is all in that link btw). He was 2 months old when we did all this but you can do it anytime.

Hope it helps :star:

Congrats to all the new mommies and good luck to all the ones expecting and/or about to deliver. (L)

Belwin-I'm lost! I see your siggy too, so you had the baby??!! Congrats!!!

Braxton Hicks...I didn't really feel them a lot during my pregnancy. Not until near the end I'd sometimes get a tightening feeling, but not in a pattern or anything. I always wondered if I was really feel BH or not. And it would worry me thatif I had hardly any BH will I actually go into labor? hehe. But I did go into labor and then I was like OH so these are contractions. :help: BTW I went into labor the day after my membranes were stripped. I didn't think it'd work but it actually did.

CHNST: I applied for Adam's US Passport first, he was three months old at that point. Taking pictures of him was a lot easier than when he was a newborn cause he slept all the time. I have seen passports with pictures where babies sleep though. Anyway, the US passport took about four weeks until we had it.

About a month later I applied for the German Kinderreisepass (it's valid for 10 years, cheaper than the regular passport BUT you cannot travel in all the countries of the world). You can use the US Birth certificate and it is very easy to apply. What you might also want to do is register for a German birth certificate so that Ben can give on his German Citizenship to his children later. You don't HAVE to do that but it is recommended. I applied for Adam's in December, haven't heard from anybody yet. I might have to call the consulate again.

All the info on passports you get here: http://www.germany.info/relaunch/info/cons...t/erst_u18.html

We had his Kinderreisepass after a whopping three days.

Thanks ladies for all the congrats I appreciate it. She is so cute and tiny. Dwain and I will be at the hospital until Sunday. Ok! Some of you encouraged me to send pictures of my new daughter Jaylyn Diane.

Jaylyn was born yesterday at 9:04 a.m, 6 lbs 11 oz, 19 inches long. We are doing great! If I can figure out how to post a picture. I will have one up in a minute if my little one isn't asking for milk and if my pain meds don't wear off.

I have loved this baby corner forum!! I don't know what I would do without such great info!!

Peace and One Luv

Jax

I went into the doctor on Wed. and he said that I would have a rough labor with my condition and would encourage a C-section. So a C-Section it was on Thursday morning at 8:30a.m. It wasn't to bad because I got the best gift ever.
