hey girls, do any of you have some good advice on dealing with Braxton Hicks? I'm having them like crazy all day and the only thing that worked was getting in the shower.

They hardly even stop and I have to go to the airport in a few minutes to pick up my mom.

It's driving me crazy and I don't even want to think about howI'm going to handle the real deal if this already bothers me so much!!

Tracy, how is life with your little baby boy?

I'm back from my 24wk checkup and my bloodpressure was better, my urine was good, my weight BAAAAAAAD. I have gained 20lbs so far, a little too much when you ask me and my doc agrees. He put me on weight control and I have to come in for a weigh in in two weeks. Oh no. With Adam I gained 50lbs all together and all the time during nursing I didn't have to worry, I ate whatever and even lost weight.

I LOVE being a mother!!! My son is the most incredible person I've ever known. He loves to eat, so Mommy doesn't sleep much. But he's such a good baby, I don't mind at all

It's good to hear your blood pressure is better. Hope the weight control works!

ONE DAY AT A TIME....

I know every pregnancy is different, but generally when do you start feeling braxton hicks?

Braxton Hicks Contractions start as early as in your 6th week of pregnancy. Some women don't feel them at all, some do. I'm definetely on of the women who feel them...A LOT. With Adam I felt the first at 23 weeks and with No2 I felt it at around 10 weeks already. They get more uncomfortable the bigger the baby gets and are supposed to 'train' your uterus and might even open the cervix...didn't do it for me though, haha.

I'm 152lbs at this moment, so I don't think I'm OVERLY fat, haha but still I have gained a lot and I'm trying now not to gain too much anymore. I'm not worried about gestational diabetis since I didn't have it with Adam and gained a lot with him too.

Thanks for the advice, Evi it helped! I went to the airport wearing just my underwear in the car :innocent: , my jeans were killing me. They completely stopped after I had a huge ginger ale.

pheww, I never had them this intense but if its true that braxton Hicks help the dilation process- I want them back!!

I remember the BH contractions at around 38/40 weeks, they do get really painful and uncomfortable. You don't know if it's the real deal or not. Some woke me up at night but they stopped when I turned around.

Hope you have a good time with your mom and maybe she'll get to see little Ben.
