Hey Ladies, We had are first rush to the hospital Tueday night. Hubby drove like a mad man because hospital is so far away. I had the flu so bad I don't think he wanted me to get sick in his car. I called the emergency room and they told me to come in because I couldn't keep in liquids in my system. They treated me for my flu and couple for nasty infections and I was released on Wed. afternoon. All I can say is those beds are so uncomfortable. I had to sleep in one position all night so they could monitor babies heart rate. Baby girl is still up very high. Know hubby and I are ready for the real thing. Today is the first day this week without a temperature. Doc said to take the rest of the week off from work to recover. He said I probably picked up the flu from some student. I guess that means I only have 4 1/2 days of work left I can't believe it. Next Wed. we will see our last ultra sound of the little girl. I am so wondering what she will look like.

I took your gals recommendations and we got a pediatrician in our town. YEAH!! But she can't come to my hospital because its not one on her list. So somebody at the hospital will have to check her. I am not scared though about the insurance thing because all physicians who go to that hospital have to be affiliated with my insurance. Hubby is glad that it is a woman doctor for some reason.

Everyone have a great day!! :)

Shauna your next girl!! Whooo

sorry you weren't feeling well...at least you are better and no temp!! and the little one is good as well!! can't wait to hear about the u/s!!! take it easy!

The nausea has come back full force. But I feel better now that ever thing has come up. and have an extra boost of energy. I just want to eat something and drink something and have it all stay down. I am trying to occupy myself until my meds arrive. I am waiting on my brother to find me a specific kind of nausea medication. Poor thing is driving all over town. Hubby is at work so he is no help right now. My bro is getting me soup to maybe it will stay down. Who knows if not I am suppose to call the doctor back.

Thanks Shauna I will. Hopefull bro will be here soon. My energy burst is running out. I just don't want to go back to the hospital. If I knew pregnancy was going to be this ruff I would of waited. I think this is my one and only. I can't stand pain and am a big baby.

Do they have to do a lot more test on you?

Isn't nausea and/or vomiting also a sign that labor is near. Your body is cleansing itself AND you are nesting (boost of energy). Either way and whatever it might be (labor or a bug), I'm hoping for you that you feel better soon. All the best.

Nothing new here. Baby is kicking like crazy, I'm finally drinking and eating more (still not on schedule but better). My next appointment is on the 23rd and on Sunday we might go look at Labor & Delivery.

I wish I could evict here. Wishing this flu bug was a sign of labor. I can't get up enough energy to clean. Nothing is staying down. I just don't know what to do but call the hospital and ask the doctor on call if I am all right.

Eveline that is great that everything is going O.K. I wish we would of gone to look at labor and delievery great idea. I didn't even know what door to enter the night I was sick. I wish someone would of told me that. :)

How are all the girls who are about to give birth? :star:

Tracy-Hope you are able to come on soon and show us a bunch of pictures!

When babies start smiling a lot and laughing, it really steals your heart even more than it was!! I am more in love with Kavi every day. (L)

It's really funny, I try to get him to smile and laugh and something that makes him laugh almost every time is if I sing in a deep voice "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!". It's hilarious. I don't know why I thought of that song one day but I did, and it's been the best.

Stina, that is too cute. Adam laughed the first time when he was about the same age as Kavi is now. It was so precious. I think I cried when I heard it but then again...I always cry :crying::lol: .

How are all the other pregnant girls here doing? Anything new?

Baby girl didn't really move a lot today. I think I - again - didn't drink enough. Also, I have been toting Adam around alot today and it was so hot (we went to a birthday party). I actually wanted to go look at the L&D Station but DH didn't want to go no more so we'll postpone that.

Hey everyone :)

Hubby and I just got back from a weekend trip to CT for my baby shower. It was great BEING there, but man I do NOT recommend driving for 5 hours at this stage of pregnancy, at least not with sciatica!!!

The shower was great though. Got to see a bunch of relatives that I haven't seen in awhile. Also got to spend time with a couple of high school friends who I still keep in touch with.

My mom bought us our travel system (Graco Quattro stroller and car seat). We also got a Pack 'n' Play, plus a bunch of smaller items. I definitely feel more prepared now, but still need to make a final trip to the store to finish up.

Baby has been moving like crazy this weekend :)

I have been feeling a bit nauseous lately and actually vomited a few times. Is this normal for this stage of pregnancy? I really don't feel sick, more like how I felt in the first trimester.

It's hard to find time these days, but I wanted to post a brief description of my childbirth experience.

My labor began Friday evening, the 4th. When my contractions were every 5 minutes apart, I went to the hospital. About 15 minutes after checking in and getting the monitors on me, my contractions begin to become much more intense and close together...about 1-2 minutes apart. I opted for the epidural. It helped, but wasn't 100% effective as it only numbed half of me

My contractions slowed a bit with the epidural, so I received Pitocin. This really kicked things in to gear, and I went from 4 centimeters dilated to 10 in just a couple of hours. The epidural had completely worn off by this point, so I was really feeling the pain. (Labor is no joke!) Just when I thought I couldn't take it any more, I realized I needed to push. The doctor definitely encouraged me, so I started pushing with every contraction, which was like every couple of minutes. In less than 15 minutes, the baby was out. Everyone was amazed that I pushed him out so quickly. I joked that everything I learned about pushing, I learned from watching "A Baby Story"... :D

Anywho, the entire labor and delivery was about 11 hours long. I received 1st degree tears and had to have a few stitches, but nothing major. I didn't even need any pain medication, although it was offered about a dozen times. My baby boy took to breastfeeding like a fish to water, which was such a blessing. Besides very sore nipples for a few days, breastfeeding has been amazing. (FYI -- Lanolin REALLY helps sore nipples)

The whole experience was incredible. My little boy is incredible. I just look at him and cry with feelings of overwhelming amazement.
