I apologize for not really contributing to this thread, but I thought I'd post in here on my wife's status. She had a little spot bleeding a few days ago, but nothing since. She's been working a lot (standing on her feet) at a dept. store and I've asked her to have them cut her shifts down in hours or just quit altogether. Her belly is really big and I worry about the amount of time she's spending on her feet. I really don't want her to work beyond 8 months into the pregnancy.

On a good note, the baby makes a lot of movement and responds to music or our voices. :luv:

Man that's awesome, I can't wait until we reach that stage!

Jonesie had her healthy baby boy on Monday without having to be induced afterall  I will let her post all the details later :)

Good to hear!

That's good. :) Yeah I can't imagine being on my feet that long. I just recently finally got the swelling of feet that comes during pregnancy. It happened after standing for too long. Thankfully it went away after putting my feet up for a half an hour.

Well update from my 37 weeks appointment. I am now 4cm dilated AND the Dr did a membrane sweep without asking me, while he was checking my cervix! it hurt like hell and i have been cramping ever since.

Maybe they want to check the baby's size? Congrats on being 4cm! I hope I get to 4cm without even being in full labor yet! :P You are almost to 5, which is very hard for some to get to even when they are in labor full swing! That's weird that the Dr did a membrane sweep without saying anything and early too.

My feet also get swollen, I had to get shoes a size bigger. I can't even imagine being on my feet for the whole day. My feet feel and look terrible by 5 pm and I have an office job.

Thanks God it is my last week at work. I have my 36 week appointment today, let's see what the doc says.

Hi Girls,

It was to check the fluid for some reason.. the fluid around the baby is fine, it was 18.... not that i know what that means.

Yes i was quite surprised the Dr did the sweep also, I came back positive for Group B strep, so really he should not be messing with the membranes. i was cramping all day yesterday but no bleeding. I think he did it because i am so dilated. I can not believe i am 4cm already with no pain! Hubby has decided that from today he is working from home, so that he can be with me all the time.

Oh the Dr said my bag of water was really bulging also, so the waters can break anytime, i am like a prisoner at home, i dare not go out!

Hope your all ok and will keep you posted.

Well, we had the anatomy ultrsound today and the baby did not cooperate :( ARGH!!!! I am so frustrated and more disappointed than I thought I would be. The baby kept his or her legs closed the entire time. Didn't move at all, but of course when we went to the doctor's appointment afterward, the doc listened to the heartbeat and said the baby was kicking and moving all over the place!!! Stubborn baby :)

I hope I get another ultrasound. Do they typically offer another one later on, or was this it?

Lizzy - Glad everything went fine with the ultrasound.

Jonesie - Congrats! Can't wait to hear :)

Tracy - You have the cutest preggie belly!!! And I love the tat :)

Thanks for the compliment, autumnchik :D As far as scheduling another ultrasound to determine the baby's gender, I'm not sure. Because the anatomy ultrasound is really for diagnostic purposes, I assume they would only schedule another if they couldn't get the results they wanted/needed for the records. You should just call your doctor's office and ask. It can't hurt

So sorry the baby didn't cooperate. That was my big fear, too!

Sorry to hear the baby didn't cooperate. Mine was VERY helpful, he just spread his legs apart and started jumping around. There were no doubts.

Lizzy, you still have a good chance to get a tax deduction this year. It would be nice if you hubby posted un update for us.

I had my weekly appointment yesterday and I am not dilated, the baby didn't drop and the cervix is high. My doctor got upset for some reason, but hey, I am only 37 weeks along, where is the rush?
