just try your luck  sometimes they will and most of the time they wont :D if they wont then you have to leave your cellphones or any other kind of electronic devices outside. so better not to take chances and leave it in your car or your hotel rooms.

So its the same rules.. Check in your cellphone and ID in the scanning counter..

Oh I had thought its a Cell phone BAN from the Outside too..

i was able to checked in 2 celphones and a digital camera at the counter where your things are being scanned. the guards gave me a number as a receipt. they asked for three IDs for each but i only have one available ID with me. i guess, just like lhedyjoe, it was because my 2yr old baby is a USC and even the yaya was allowed to tag along with us.

Wait but she just said that she was able to check in her cell phone just like I did this past February and she just had her interview!!??

CELL PHONES NO LONGER PERMITTED ON EMBASSY GROUNDS

For the safety and security of all applicants and employees, visa applicants are no longer permitted to bring cell phones or other electronic devices into the U.S. Embassy. Effective 01 March 2007, applicants who bring such devices will be denied entry. Please make arrangements to leave your electronic equipment in a safe location off Embassy grounds during your interview appointment. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation.

i wasnt that lucky like lhedyjoe and prettyfaceandbody when i went to the embassy for my visa pickup... they didnt allow me to leave my celphone with the guards... So I just left my phone with one of the SAF police officers manning the grounds outside the US embassy to hold my phone while i get my visa.

The first time I brought a cellphone with me, they gave me a chance and let me in and gave me a # coz I told them I came all the way from Cebu that time so there's no one and no place I can leave it.

The second time, I was kicked out and told by the guard to leave it outside with those bystanders. I left it with them and paid 100 pesos. Gosh! They really make money with that! But I had no choice...I can't travel without a cellphone and nobody with me.
