Yes - i'm actually asking this PRESSING question!

We're heading out for a fancier Christmas party tomorrow and I have very cute black satin pumps to go with my black satin dress. Should I bother with nylons at all? Nude I'm thinking and a sandal foot since they have a peep toe?

The weather here in Virginia is pretty decent so I could probably get away with none.

PS - I hate having no work lunches to discuss these pressing issues

I think either would be perfectly fine, whichever you are more comfortable with. How decent is this decent weather? Will you have snow on your toes :hehe:

I've seen nylons which have an opening at the toes, to be worn w/ sandals. You still get the support of the panty hose, but have theopen toe if the shoe calls for it. You can try those if you wish.

I don't know....formal and elegant dress calls for nylons, but that's just me. :)

A friend of mine wore peep-toes to a wedding and had special nylons that stopped just before the toes, except for a thin thong to keep it in place. So the effect was bare toes, but her legs had nylons on them. My solution, at the same wedding, was just to forgo nylons. I think you'd be okay with either option (we were in Philly in December.)

And definitely go with the knee highs.

Just went to a Christmas party last weekend work related.....I wore peep toe pumps no nylons....The whole purpose of peep toe is to see your toe and the beautiful nail polish... just my two cents!

Other people wore them and my friends and I found that it looked wierd.

In all honestly, wear what you are comfortable in?

hi lovelies,

i couldn't resist replying... i may be a visa rookie, but i know fashion. toes showing means nothing over them... get a pedi + flash those darling little piggies!

nylons are a bit outdated... unless it's for work. no one wears them to dress-up events anymore. if you must wear them, just make sure they match your skin - no awful orange/brown/shimmery legs for you, gorgeous!

TG someone said that. I think it's totally cute now to wear tights or black opaque tights even, but if you're in Virginia, that might look strange. For my .02, wearing nylons with peep-toes is like wearing socks under sandals. It broke my heart going to a cocktail party last night in black heels when my heart was calling out to some purple peep-toes, but it seemed so silly to wear them in December. Maybe not in Virginia though.

Just as long as someone gets everyone on Earth to stop wearing skin-color nylons.

Phew...I know.....I am seeing a lot of soccer moms around here with some questionable things on :) It's not a crime to get some decent jeans that aren't up to your armpits. I'm no model myself, but being in the corporate world helps those of us who are not Cindy Crawford figure out what's hip :)

Not sure we got a picture of the peep toes though...took the advice and went with bare toes avec 'I'm not really a Waitress' from OPI...such a pretty red.

This company party was something else...at the Washington Wardman Park Marriott. Lovely meal, met up with some of my husband's friends (who we play World Of Warcraft with) and their wives. Great night........the entertainment turned out to be the Beach Boys...did anyone realize they are OLD enough to be our parents???
