I woke up to a severe lightning storm, so I went to get Mimi off the porch....now she's downstairs cuddled in her iccle bed all safe from the storm. It's a BAD storm right now

That was a crazy storm, wasn't it Lisa? Had a candle lit and the weather radio handy just in case the power went out again.

My br is on the second floor, and full of windows. I left my blackout curtains open last night....imagine waking up with your room as bright as daylight

It's subsided now by me....but I missed church How's it by you now?

The rain has stopped, but it's windy and overcast now. I decided to give church a miss too. My husband usually leaves for work at 6:20am, but had to wait until 6:50 this morning because it was so crazy out there. I'm glad he was here for the worst of it, though. Last time the tornado went right by our house and I was all alone in the dark. It was scary.

A few mos ago, I watched my neighbor's 100+ year old tree get struck by lightning and fall on her house Ever since then, lightning freaks me out! This morning's was brutal....it flashed so much by me that I actually had to shield my eyes cos it was so long and so bright.

A few mos ago, I watched my neighbor's 100+ year old tree get struck by lightning and fall on her house Ever since then, lightning freaks me out! This morning's was brutal....it flashed so much by me that I actually had to shield my eyes cos it was so long and so bright.

Thank God you're both ok now though!

It was the one that hit Eustis (about 2 miles from here) in September. I'm in the Country Club of Mount Dora and you could hear it go right by. The ones that hit VL and Lake counties in February affected us too. We were having our wedding ceremony the next day and we'd hired the Mount Dora Trolly Company to take our guests over to Spanish Springs in The Villages following the ceremony and dinner. Obviously that got cancelled. But the worst part was the fact that most of our guests flew in literally on top of the tornados, and all the women got off the flights crying. We were at the airport until 4:30am due to flight delays, then had to get back to the airport by 9:00am for another pickup. Needless to say both my husband and I were a bit blurry-eyed that day.

Oh wow!!! Thank God nothing worse happened to you two!

I remember watching about that on the news. I didn't personally know anyone affected, cept this one customer whose house was completely obliterated by the one in Feb (for some reason, I initially thought it was March, but close enuff!)

She is really gorgeous, Jackie. You may find that she will need a bath. Shelter volunteers don't have time to groom long haired cats as much as needed, so you may need to cut out any hair clumps and bathe her. If you find you can't do this yourself a vet would be happy to do it (for the requisite fee, of course!).

I have a quezzie to all the cat mommies and daddies out there :/ I noticed Mimi has a little bump where they gave her the vaccination. Is this normal? I googled, and all I'm getting is 'Feline sarcoma' and it's freaking me the fock out.
