She does this cute little pouty face when she wants something.... it's maddening. And adorable.

I don't really mind another cat..... at least, not since I picked him out and he seems to think that he's mine.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

He is around 5 years old, weighs about 110lbs (:P) and was the shelter's longest resident (that's half the reason we picked him). He is very affectionate and rather sweet. There were quite a few we loved but the deal was sealed for Chip when they said he had been with them quite a while. The shelter workers were all sad to see him go but really happy too. He's currently chilling out in the lounge (away from the other cats for now).

He is smoky grey with white feet and chest. :luv:

Awww, he's beautiful Mags! I love grey kitties best of all! :luv: He looks just like my first kitty, Jose. I still miss that guy. :(

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG, I want that cat,......! I know , I know, I know I can't have him, but it doesn't stop me from asking right?..lol

I miss having animals around so much,....I cant wait to get back to the states so I can adopt a kitty cat or 3 :whistle: , and give it (them) a loving home. The animal shelters here in Germany wont let Americans (well, basically anyone not german), adopt animals here, as the dumping rate back at the shelters is way too high, when the people find it all too hard to try and organise to get an animal home to the states with them. Damn selfish people, if you dont want the responsbility, nor have the time nor patience, dont get a pet!!,...these people have spoilt it for ones like me who really want to give a unloved animal a new home.

The timeline... (Frankfurt) for the kids visas

10/22/2007 Filed I-130 x 2 in person + paid 710 USD (355 each )

10/22/2007 Filed DS-230 part 1 x 2

10/22/2007 Received the document checklist and FRN (case) numbers

12/18/2007 I-130 petition approved, but I didn't know. I was away at the time, didn't get confirmation letters til I got back from the states.

12/20/2007 Notice of Approval arrives in tha mail. According to the date received stamp on back of envelope at my post box.

Will now wait til hubby is back from Iraq to fax in checklist readiness, even though, I have been ready since day of lodging I-130's. all except medical.

02/18/2008 Faxed the "checklist" back to the consulate.

02/25/2008 Medicals completed.

02/25/2008 Appt letters in mail for appt on March 7th. Cant go due to prior military commitments. Emailed consulate and received an amended appt date of March 12th 2008.

03/12/2008 Visa interview - APPROVED x 2

03/27/2008 Visa's finally generated. I emailed the consulate. they apologised for the delay. They forgot to issue the visas after approval.

03/31/2008 Received visas

04/26/2008 Flying out of Frankfurt to next duty station on orders.

We went back to the shelter today to return the carrier we borrowed and the funniest thing happened - "Snowball" comes to live with us tomorrow.

Edit: Chip has settled in really well, btw. It's like he has always been here. :luv:

Actually, it will be 7, not 5. And no....the litter boxes are in the laundry room.

I have to share my cat milestone with you guys. It's a bit embarrassing, but it's sorted now.

You all know how attached I got to Mimi when she arrived here. Well, I did make flyers and put them up to see if she would be claimed. No one ever called, so life went on. Well, for a long time I wanted to take her to the vet, but I was afraid of two things: 1-ifI brought her to the vet and then after I bring her home, she would be so traumatized that she'd run away or 2-that she was chipped, and after having her for 6 mos or so, I'd have to give her away.

One day ran into the next, and now she's here a year without the vet :(

So I finally was like 'enough is enough' and called up and spoke to the vet. The asst said that if she was chipped, by law I'd have to leave the cat with them. I was gutted, and really scared, but I fig'd now that I have such a good relationship with Mimi, she at least won't run away. I brought her to the vet and I was literally shaking and I started to cry....she was in the carrier all whiny and crying in a sad voice, it broke my heart.

They scanned her, she's MINE! Woot.

I got her her shots, and she got tested for all the bad stuff.....that was nerve racking as well!!! But she's fine.

She's getting fixed & chiped Jan 2. And a teeth cleaning too.

BUT SHE'S ALL MINE! And she was so well behaved at the docs! And now she's more lovable than ever...I think it's a trust thing or summat.

Mags, sorry for the derail, but I've really been so happy about this that I had to share the news. She's officially mine! I even just bought her her first Christmas stocking!

TY Charles! I was so worried...I have a huuuuuuuuuge weight off my shoulders now!

BTW she fell in the pool again last night :lol: But she just hit the cover, so the water was minimal. :lol:

I just got a kitty! She came home with me last night from a shelter. She is such a diva. I just don't know what to name her. I need help.
