Anyway, hubby is grumbling but did say if I had come home with her he actually wouldn't have divorced me. NOW he tells me!

Translation: "I'd be perfectly ok with you going back to PetSmart and getting the cat today."

I wish...he just said "No more cats!". *sniffs* Any other ideas for emotional blackmail are welcome, in this thread.

You're only allowed to get another cat if you get a really fluffy, cuddly one. That way I can live vicariously through you.

She is. Big, grey and very fluffy. :D

We have a diabetic cat. It needs a shot every twelve hours, so we try to schedule our lives around being home to give the cat a shot. When we go away for a few days, we have to board the cat at a not-inconsiderable expense to ensure that it still gets the shots. The cat wakes us up at anywhere between 4.30 and 5am, but then goes to sleep under the bed at 7am when it's shot time. It leaves its hair everywhere. It pukes on the carpet weekly. It gets in the way when I want to watch TV or generally just want to sit on the sofa without being massaged by a small mammal. It gets under my feet when I'm carrying boxes of heavy, fragile &/or costly stuff. Its special diabetic food is expensive, as is the insulin. That cat litter stuff gets everywhere.

That's the essence for having a cat ....it makes you human and so alive !!!! :D:P

don't you think so? :)

I'll take the 'human' and 'alive' stuff but leave the cat puke, cheers.

I know how you feel, Mags. I moved with with 6 and my eldest, Kirsty, had a tough time with the move. I ended up having to put her to sleep 6 weeks after we arrived - she was 15. I have the other 5 and they are great but Joe says that we don't need any more cats, either. I saw a beautiful, affectionate, adorable, long-haired bob tailed gray point siamese coloured 5 month old kitten at the vets two days ago - she is one they are fostering - and I fell in love! But, Joe says 5 are enough so I just had to settle for cuddling her for a little.

I had a diabetic cat as well and he was on twice a day insulin injections. Since I am also diabetic we actually shared insulins and I could use my syringes for him. I had a neighbour who cat sat who learned how to give him his insulin when I was away for a weekend or so. It worked out fine. I miss him, though. He eventually died from an insulin reaction - we have no idea what happened. I came home from work at lunch and found him in a coma.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

...and now there are 6.

Pictures of "Chip" to come soon....

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I fail to see the joy in them, quite frankly.

OMG, your last line had me ROFLMAO.
