That is hilarious, Jenn!

There is a reason for my sudden desire for another (apart from being insane, of course). A pal and I went shopping in PetSmart yesterday and they have a few adoption kitties there from the local pet rescue society. There was a gorgeous grey long haired cat (around 5 years old) whose owner just died. :( Of course I wanted ALL of the cats (obsessed..who me?) but she stood out.

Anyway, hubby is grumbling but did say if I had come home with her he actually wouldn't have divorced me. NOW he tells me!

We have a diabetic cat. It needs a shot every twelve hours, so we try to schedule our lives around being home to give the cat a shot. When we go away for a few days, we have to board the cat at a not-inconsiderable expense to ensure that it still gets the shots. The cat wakes us up at anywhere between 4.30 and 5am, but then goes to sleep under the bed at 7am when it's shot time. It leaves its hair everywhere. It pukes on the carpet weekly. It gets in the way when I want to watch TV or generally just want to sit on the sofa without being massaged by a small mammal. It gets under my feet when I'm carrying boxes of heavy, fragile &/or costly stuff. Its special diabetic food is expensive, as is the insulin. That cat litter stuff gets everywhere.

I fail to see the joy in them, quite frankly.

You're really not getting into the spirit of the thread.

Translation: "I'd be perfectly ok with you going back to PetSmart and getting the cat today."

I have one cat who has a porto-systemic shunt. He needs special food and acts like he is stoned all the time. We have another who has seizures every three weeks and who pukes every day at 6am and 4.30pm (could set your clock by him). I have another cat who insists on trying to eat either my hand or the other cats - depends on which is nearer. The other two are normal. Just.

I love them all. :luv:
