Vaccination help !

Im just trying to get my vaccination supplement form done - I need 2 vaccinations and the designated civil surgeon I just called wants between $400 and $600 dollars for this ! OMG !

America is expensive ! I just dont feel this is justified !

You should call the other surgeons from the uscis list in your area, the prices are different in each office, so the more places you call the more chances you have to get a better price. I know it's expensive Also it's possible they gave you the price for the whole medical, they do it often even after you specify you only need vaccinations they try to make you do the whole medical anyways.

Call somewhere else - even if it means further driving, it'll cost you a lot less. We paid $23 dollars for my husband's 2 vaccines and vaccination supplement form. The local public health department was actually one of the civil surgeons approved by USCIS. Another one we called wanted to charge $150 or so. It definitely pays to shop around for this. And it may take some convincing to prove to them you don't need the entire physical and that they can indeed give you only the vaccines and vacc. supplement form. I took the official printoff from the USCIS webiste with me as backup proof.

Call around to other civil surgeons, there's always Public health center who usually qualify for this, some people have paid as little as $25.00, I know when we went it was about $120 for shots, paperwork and duplicates for our file.

I am not entirely sure if this is possible but when we were going through the medical we had a lot of the tests etc. done in our own local hospital through our own doctor - so we could claim this back through our insurance. we then passed on the medical files as proof of the vaccinations and test results to the civil surgeon for her to check - they were all in order and we received our medical package shortly thereafter. the only role our civil surgeon performed was the general medical which i believe is a requirement. by the way i had the full medical done here in the US as i am not a k-1 applicant.

i think that once you have a legitimate record of receiving the vacciniation, no matter where it is from the civil surgeon must accept this and make the necessary ticks on your application. maybe someone here could confirm this?

Thats correct, you have to get your vaccination history transcribed by a civil surgeon designated by USCIS and have it recorded on the I-693 form.

Special Instructions:

The medical examination must be conducted by a civil surgeon who has been designated by USCIS. For the most current list of civil surgeons in your area, please check our Civil Surgeons Locator. To obtain by telephone the names and phone numbers of the designated civil surgeons in your area, please call USCIS' National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283. You will be asked to provide your zip code. Please have a pen or pencil ready to write down the list of civil surgeons in your area.

Missy I would call up as many places that are easily reached to find the best deals as it seems to be hit and miss! I would also read through the forum posts for the past few days as this issue seems to be a hot topic at the moment!

If you have medical insurance, you can get the vaccinations at your regular doctor. When I got a tetanus booster shot, I did not even have to pay for the vaccination separately -- it was covered under the copay for the visit. I have HMO so it may work differently for other plans, not sure. In any case, it will be a lot cheaper through your regular doctor, if you have one.

Definitely call around and do a wide an area as you can possibly handle. Civil surgeons are licensed to steal by the Feds

Yes thats the attitude after one quote from one civil surgeon ,just group the whole damn country into one comment. maybe just maybe do some work and look around
