Hi there,

I havent been on in a long time. I have to file my paperwork next week and today my husband and I had a HUGH fight. It got to the point that he became very violent and broke one of the bedroom doors. I am at a loss. I dont know what to do. He had already signed the paperwork, however i dont know if our marriage is over. I dont know if I should send in the paperwork or see if he wants to file for a divorce. I have been married for 3 years and have a valid marriage. I dont know I am so lost right now. Please advise

I'm so sorry you are going through these difficulties. I do hope that they resolve themselves the way you would like them to.

I think under the circumstances you are the only one who can really know how to proceed. If you wanted to wait a few days and see if you get a better idea of the direction of your marriage that is perfectly understandable. You may wish to submit the application since you are close to the filing date with the understanding that if the circumstances in your marriage change and you get divorced, you can withdraw that application and re-submit one on your own requesting the waiver from joint filing. Good luck. I hope everything gets better.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

If it's just an isolated incident, everyone has had moments where the temper really flares during an argument.

No matter what the outcome, would you just up and move back or would you want to stay? I'd say if the answer is stay, then I would send it in as planned. If a divorce were even on the horizon, it can take a while to complete and you'd still have to send in that paperwork.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Thanks guys.

We had a long talk last night. I asked him where we stood. The last thing he wanted was a divorce. I mean I didnt know. He was very sorry for what he did and promised me that he would buy a new door. He was actually really sweet about it. To be honest I was surprized, he has a hard time admitting when he is wrong.

Thanks once again

Good to hear you're working it out. Just watch that temper of his.
