my husband is visiting this winter break inshaAllah ..... if the receipt for the i-130 arrives in the mail wen he is not there... what happens to it??

Where is he visiting? The US??

...well, if it arrives [insha Allah it does...the sooner the better!! :) ] ....it will just sit in his mailbox until he returns....but a few weeks after that, he should also be receiving the first letter from the NVC, which is the Choice of Agent letter....but they also send it to you...so if they're successful in getting it to you in Egypt [my husband hasn't received a single letter...haha] ...then it won't hold you up at all....but if he could, he should have a friend check his mail for him while he's away, so they can update you guys on that...

...oh, sorry, i just realized you said the receipt for the nvc....after you receive the receipt, you won't be receiving anything else for a couple of months i think...but the only bad thing is that you won't know what your case number is until your husband returns to the US.....so again, i'd suggest he has a friend check his mail for him or something...because once you have the case number, you can check your case status online and have them email you when you with the updates....

24 April 2009 Biometrics scheduled

...once again waiting

1 September 2009 (just over 5 months) Approved and card production ordered.

Anyways he would just get the NOA2 and wouldn't really do anything with it anyways so don't fret. Once the NOA2 happens then it will go to NVC and they will send along to Cairo and you will be the one contacted with the packet 3 information. :)

...that's a mistake on the timeline...it also happened to me... :) i think Armenia is the default, i guess because it's at the beginning of the list...haha...

yes the armenia thing is a mistake it just got there ..not by me lol ... well i guess yes ill ask him to ask a friend of his to check his mail!! hehehe i found myself wishing it wd reach him after he gets back looool anyways thanks :D
