Okay, this happens a lot for Morocco, I have a few questions and two suggestions:

1. What type of questions did they ask him?

2. Does he have a Muslim name?

3. What type of proof of relationship did you submit?

Now suggestions:

1. Call the Dept of State yourself at 202-663-1225 push option "1" and then "0" for an operator. You will need your case number and his name and Date of Birth when you call. You want to tell them that he got an unmarked 221(g) and ask if they are performing a name check or if there is something else you need to submit.

2. If they will not talk to you--this depends on the operator you get--then you may need to contact either or both of your Senators...the DOS DOES play favorites.

If they do not talk to you it may be beneficial to wait a couple of days and call again..the information varies greatly depending on how friendly the operator is...

It is possible that they are just doing a security check, or they may want further proof of your relationship, both are very possible. If they need more proof of relationship you have a limited time to provide it, if it is a name check you have no further action to take until they are finished.

Please answer the questions and we'll have a better idea of what may be going on.

You prob wont get any info from the USCIS...State Dept has your file. You will get better answers if you post this in the Middle East-No Africa forum futher down the forum page. You are dealing with the Consulate from Hell, and many ppl there can help you.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

did the form get marked as if more information is needed or did they use the phrase TO BE RETURNED. There are alot of us gone thru the same thing, if its still there try to get with chiquita and she is a big help or i will try to reach her for you but you can try and stop the return process at this point (if this is the one way) or if they ask for more info then you wil need to follow up as needed. You dont want to plan to marry quickly either way as this will require you to start all over and yes they can do the same thing even with that. I will get in touchwith you alot can be done still

Were you born and raised in America? I can't tell by your writing...

Anyways, you need to get a copy of the 221g and see what it says and go from there.

Thats true. It isnt clear to me from reading the thread whether this is just the standard 221g or an actual return. Casa has allowed people to bring additional evidence of relationship to them before rendering a final decision or making a provisional approval based on receiving the requested info. Id get on finding out what is what quick so you will know if you need to contact Chiquita and others or just gather some info and send it off. Good luck to you
