Holiday Travel Concerns

Hello everyone,

I have what I think is a simple question, but I cant find an answer to it! I am hoping someone here can help!

My Spanish husband has a I-94 visa which is going to expire 2 weeks before we take a domestic flight for the holidays. We submitted all our papers to USCIS, but we have nothing back from them. We called the Spanish Consulate (no luck), USCIS (no luck), and the US consulate in our hometown (no luck there either).

Does anyone have recommendations?

Should we not fly, but rather drive?

Any chance he would be deported, since all we will carry are our copies of his immigration paperwork?

Domestic flights do not involve DHS or Immigrations, you do not pass through immigrations check points, and TSA does not look at I-94 cards, only picture ID is needed to travel domestically, TSA looks at biometric page of passport to confirm ID of passenger matches the airline ticket.

He'll be fine, Piovana. I travelled domestically with an expired I-94 and no GC. They just check the bio page to make sure it's the same person travelling. But bring along the immigration documents and marriage certificate. I was never asked for mine but I felt better knowing I had them with me.
