Yes they do interview for removing conditions, but tend to do it if they suspect a sham marriage, only for the green-card, they tend to do a "Stokes Interview" in this case, separating the couple and asking probing questions and comparing the answers.

Every once in a while they will also randomly select applicants and "invite" them for an interview. From what I have heard these interviews are very similar to the AOS interviews. If you are selected to appear for an interview I wouldn't worry to much, as long as you entered your marriage in good faith. Be well prepared by bringing as much supporting evidence as possible.

I can recall at least one couple posting here who was called for an interview, where it wasn't a full-on Stokes interview, but it wasn't a random quality control interview, either. I can't remember details, but they had one area of unusual circumstances that were enough to raise a bit of reasonable suspicion, even though they were a legitimate couple. They were interviewed together, and once they explained the details of their situation enough to convince the officer, they were approved.

I wish I could remember more details.

Anyway, I've been watching here for a few years, and there have only been a tiny handful of interview reports here in that time. The vast majority of couples report approval with no interview. EVERY interview report that I've seen here resulted in an approval.

I'm sure there are some who are interviewed and denied, but I suspect (hope) those are the sham couples who don't report their experience here.
