And he's related to Davey Crockett. :)

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

"Born on a mountain top in Tennessee,

Greenest state in the land of the free.

Raised in the woods so's he knew every tree,

Killed him a bear when he was only three.

Davy, Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier.

He fought single handed through the Injun war,

Till the Creeks was whipped and peace was restored.

And while he was handling this risky chore,

Made himself a legend, forevermore.

Davy, Davy Crockett the man who don't know fear.

When he lost his love, and his grief was gall,

In his heart he wanted to leave it all,

And lose himself in the forest tall,

But he answered instead, his country's call.

Davy, Davy Crockett, the choice of the whole frontier

He went off to Congress and served a spell

Fixin' up the government and laws as well.

Took over Washington, so we hear tell,

And patched up the crack in the Liberty Bell.

Davy, Davy Crockett, seein' his duty clear. (Serving his country well)

When he come home, his politickin' done,

The western march had just begun.

So he packed his gear, and his trusty gun

And lit out a grinnin' to follow the sun.

Davy, Davy Crockett, Leadin the Pioneers.

His land is biggest, and his land is best

From grassy plains to the mountain crest

He's ahead of us all in meeting the test

Followin' his legend right into the West

Davy, Davy Crockett, King of the Wide Frontier

King of the Wild Frontier. "

Here's to good ol' American Folklore! Who says we don't have our own stories?

I don't get it. This boy is obviously too young to get a license...unless there is no age restriction?

Fall black bear hunting season generally runs Sept. 15 to Nov. 27 in Montana and black bear hunters needed to purchase their license by Aug. 31. Be sure to check the 2005 Montana Black Bear Regulations for the most accurate hunting season dates and information.

Some hunters don’t plan to hunt black bear, but buy a license on the chance they may encounter a bear while deer or elk hunting. Nonetheless, once a hunter pulls the trigger, under Montana law they are responsible for ensuring that the meat remains fit for human consumption and is not wasted. Hunters are also prohibited from abandoning the bear head or hide in the field.

That's pretty obvious.

Providing info about Montana hunting seasons ... while the story was in Arkansas.

Looks like Grandpa had the license (tags) ...

Hunter Education Requirements

A hunter born after 1968 must carry a valid hunter education card. Hunters under 16 are not required to have a card if they are under direct supervision of a licensed hunter 21 or older.

Hunting License and Permit Requirements

For anyone 16 or older, an Arkansas hunting license is required to hunt wildlife

Link for License Requirements

I think letting a 5 year old handle a gun is just wrong.

Education is a wonderful thing. Safety and skills learned at a young age will help lower the chance of accidents ... especially curiosity accidents.
