So I am new to the forum... have been doing a LOT of online research, but have a few questions:

-When my fiance's K1 is approved, and he goes to the POE, will he be given an EAD? I have heard both yes and no, and am confused.

-He lives in Vancouver BC, but we have been told that the only consulate that deals with K1 visas in in Montreal, QC. Does this mean he will have to fly to go to his interview?

Basically, I am going to school, so for him to move to the U.S... and not be able to work is not really possible. I do not understand why everything has to be so difficult, and why they allow you to immigrate, but won't allow you to be an active member of society!? :help:

Thanks in advance!

The Vancouver consulate also handles K1 visas. He'll have his interview there :)

As for the temporary EAD stamp, the only reliable airport which are handing them out is JFK. Other land border crossings occasionally hand them out, but not enough to say reliably. There was one other VJ member who received a temporary EAD stamp at the Vancouver airport, but I personally asked for one and was told they weren't giving them out when I processed my visa there.

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

Getting our sanity tested by bureaucracy since 2007.

Here we go again...
