Did I need to send the Dept of state forms with my packet or do they go stright to my girl and she shows them in Manila? Did i completely screw up or not?

Reason I am worried is the letter from NVC came on March 24 but no packet for her yet and have no idea where anything is at.

Don't know about the papers you need to send to Manila. What Department of state forms are you referring to? If I understand the proccess she will get a packet with some forms in it and an appointment letter for her interview. She will also get some forms for her medical. As far as anything you need to send I think all you need is the evidence of your relationship, income and ability to marry. Someone that has been through this should be able to give you more on that.

BTW I see you went to Bagio! I was there in January. Loved it there. I also have the boat rowing pics. :D I am going back in June for Luz's birthday. I love it there!

Good luck to you!

What State Department Forms??? I never had any forms from them, I think your SO just waits for package 3 and then she makes an appointment for her medical. Good luck.

I would be calling constantly no matter what the cost. We didn't get the packet in the mail till after we got back from Manila to Cebu. We had to find out everything by calling over and over again to make sure.

About the forms thing......what forms are you talking about??

You just got NOA 2 in March. After that, the petition goes to the NVC. The NVC will notify you when they assign a case number beginning with MNL2006.... After that, the NVC will forward your petition to the consulate in Manila. You should not expect your fiance to get a packet from the consulate until at least July. The packet will contain the DS forms 156, 156K, 157. In the meantime, you should complete the I-134 affidavit of support and send it directly to your fiancee. She should begin gathering documents... an original NSO certified birth certificate, police clearances from any country that she has been in for over 6 months since the age of 16, a CENOMAR from the NSO if she has never been married before, certified documents ending any previous marriage.

Start calling the consulate in July if your fiancee hasn't received the packet by July. They have a bad reputation for not getting these sent out. Once they have scheduled an interview, you can ask them to send a copy of the packet directly to St Luke's Medical Center and pick the packet up there.

Once you have the NVC case number, you can check online to see if it is on the current list of appointments at http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/rp1/wwwfvisa.pdf

No ... it's way too early ... your number will appear 4-6 weeks before your medical appt. date.

I was replying to a question regarding the consulate in Manila. Every consulate has it's own timeline.

It took Claudeth over a month to receive the packet and that was before the embassy was over-burdened with professional work visas.

You can't go by timelines that were far in the past. Go by what's currently happening at the consulate. In the last half of 2005 the length of time from the Manila consulate receiving the petition to the interview had extended to about 6 months with packets going out after approx 5 months. That time has improved slightly recently to about 5 months from receipt to interview.

Take a look at the timelines of those currently waiting for interviews in Manila:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=181

Don't go by my timeline either ... after my petition was already in Manila, we ended up getting an expedited appt. for medical reasons.
