Hi Everyone,

I called the NVC to see if they had received my petition and it seems they have not. They looked up all my information to see if they could find it anywhere and no luck. They said to call CSC and find out what happened. I called CSC and the rep took my info and said based on my petition type that my file should have been sent directly to the US Embassy in my fiance's country bypassing the NVC. Well I have a NOA2 saying that my stuff was sent there but she said it should have gone to the Embassy and to contact them to see if they have it because they cannot track the file to tell me post approval information. I have heard of some VJ'rs getting notices that there petition was sent to the US Embassy rather than NVC, is this true and if so has it happened to anyone?

Thanks!

Since an approved petition requires a new case number assigned by the Department of State, it is highly unlikely that the USCIS can do this and I doubt the consulates do this anymore, since NVC has been given such a large presence & increased responsibility in the whole visa process.

If you call USCIS, their stock answer when case reaches NOA2 is "We sent it on to the consulate" they neglect to say through NVC. It is not called the Mis-information line for nothing.

After NOA2, CSC tends to place approved petitions in a trailer and waits until the trailer is full before having the load hauled to NVC in New Hampshire, so it can take 2-4 weeks between NOA2 and NVC receiving.
