Even better, I just want to buy the visa straight out without any waiting time whatsoever!!!

It does suck very hard that they are taking so long just to send the mail though....you wait so long for that fricken NOA2, and you think "Now things are going to happen!" But no....you have just stepped into the next queue.

I remember hearing once that if you took an American football game and paired it down only to the time that the ball was actually in play, then an entire game would take minutes rather than hours. The rest of it is all waiting. Seems like they have taken the same strategy for visas.... :crying:

that's why some of us watch rugby ;)

I don't mind this wait so much... NOA2 was the biggest stress; now I figure: it'll get to NVC eventually, and in the meantime I feel so bad for the people who filed before me who are still without their NOA2 :(

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Got the NOA 2 on 12/13. Did the RFE trick and the officer informed me that my petition left CSC for NVC on 12/24. I spoke to an NVC person this morning and still no record of our petition at NVC. Not sure what to believe and questioning if it really left CSC on 12/24 (Of course, there are two holidays and transit time to NVC to take into consideration). Who knows??? All I know is that it takes too long!!! :)

LONG It does! It took 2 months to get to the NVC once approved, and look....... ours is STILL sitting at the NVC... talk about waiting! Most spend 2 or 3 days at the NVC, ours... 6 weeks now.... so we waited for CSC and now we wait... again.... for NVC to send to the consulate in Sweden. Crazy!

Are they open today? I've tried calling the NVC like 10 times now and keep getting booted back to the automated system saying all of their operators are busy, call back later. Is it just that they are extremely busy today? I was thinking that maybe they were closed. I guess I will keep trying!

Happy New Year all!

Jennifer :)

6 weeks sounds abnormal compared to most. You may want to try a congressional inquiry?

NVC is open today. I called at 8:00 (eastern time) and caught an operator live. You may want to try just before they close tonight (midnight, eastern time).

23 days. Wow. Nothing like CSC dragging it out to the bitter end!!! Too bad they don't have a visa center on the west coast. I'm sure the Vermont approvals get there faster...
