EAD and still no biometriocs appointment

I filed for EAD and AOS Oct 17 and still have not received the biometrics appointment letter. I have filed a Service Request on the phone (USCIS told me I could do that 30 days after I have received NOA1) and got a confirmation for that Dec 10. Now I found some posts stating that some people have received their EAD without their biometrics taken see here.

I have also received a letter with an interview date (Feb 2008) for the AOS but now biometrics appointment, although that should have been the next step according to the NOA1.

I am a bit confused and worried. I don't want to miss too many paychecks and my employer is waiting for me, too (I was able to work for 4 weeks with the JFK stamp before it expired).

Has anyone had similar experiences?

It took Claudeth about a month for her biometrics. I did see someone post that they received their EAD without a biometrics appointment but find that very unusual. Wonder what picture they used? The ones we sent with Claudeth's AOS weren't used for anything, the pictures on her EAD and GC were from her biometrics.

just noticed a typo, it should have been

"I have also received a letter with an interview date (Feb 2008) for the AOS but no biometrics appointment... " instead of "now"

Hey, I seem to be in the similar situation as you are, from the same office.

I filed for my wife's EAD/AP/AOS all in one package in mid November. We got the AOS interview letter around early December but still no Biometrics Letter for anything. The Case Status Online didn't change either.

According to your timeline you are few days ahead of us for the AOS interview. Please do let us know what happens during the interview if you still don't receive your Biometrics before then.

I am wondering if there is number we can inquire about this. Also I read somewhere people just walk in to their local office and have their Biometric, not sure for San Jose Office though.

Cheers.

I filed a Service Request via the USCIS hotline (follow the RFE path to speak to someone, I actually had a RFE for the AOS). But all I got was a letter stating that I was in the system and the system would assign me a appointment as soon as a timeslot is available ...

I scheduled an Infopass for the 7th just to make sure everything is ok, I will keep you posted

Several members never see a change in their online status. As for the Biometrics Appointment, the Service Center (at least the one we had our Biometrics in San Marcos, CA), would not let you in the door without the appointment letter.

I went to the local office today and was told that my EAD was approved on Dec 28th (not visible on the website). As for the card production, there would be a huge backlog. But they cold not explain why I have not even received the letter for the biometrics appointment ... maybe there is something wrong with the San Jose queue in there "system" scheduling the appointments?

Doesn't your fingerprint need to be on the EAD card though? How can then process the card without the print??

Biometerics are actually needed only for AOS not EAD, card should say fingerprint not available and they use the picture one sends in with the EAD application.

Today I received the biometrics appointment letter (it is for both applications). It is Jan 26 (why so late?) and according to the officer in the local office my EAD was already approved Dec 28th. It appears that he queue for biometrics in San Jose is very long ...

I just hope they can produce the card quickly after the biometrics.
