Let's see:

  • a bottle, purporting to be wine, in a grossly-majority Muslim country (does Egypt have "exception" for selling wine to non-Muslims?)
  • has a name resembling a real wine but misspelled
Based on these, I think it would only be good for a sundry purpose--such as cleaning floor of grease.

I would say it has to be good- obviously the people who are making the labels are drinking a lot of it!

Might as well chase that bottle with some rubbing alcohol. Or better yet, how about a nice can of hairspray?? Mouthwash will get you buzzed, but at least you'll have nice breath. You could always drink embalming fluid and get similar results. Probably tastes better too. Throw that ####### away. If you're looking to save a buck, might I suggest a nice bottle of Wild Irish Rose. Yuk!! Dont even need a wine tool to open it! and it makes for interesting shades of maroon while calling God on the big white porcelain phone....a few hours later.

man i saw an episode of "intervention" with a woman who was an alcoholic who drank mouthwash in LARGE amounts. *shudders at the thought

:help:

I saw that one too. I'm glad she took the help.

I can not tell you if it is safe to drink. But I can tell you it's probably only a poor translation. I've had many a Russian merlo or merlow too. Don't judge the wine by the label.

Eh, Russia does have a tradition of producing alcohol (fermented or distilled); vast majority of Egyptians follow a religion which prohibits it. I don't think I would take an imitation made in a non-wine-producing country.

I didn't see that show but I did see a man die from drinking bbq starter fluid. I was doing volunteer work at our local hospital and walked into ICU while they were resuscitating him. I left and went over to the nurses' station and his wife was in there (with a nurse) throwing up into the wastebasket. Turns out they had run out of alcohol and were so drunk they thought it would be a good idea to try the starter fluid since it's alcohol-based. So very very sad. :(
