K1 approval at CSC times

I had my NOA-1 received at CSC on June 11th. Still nothing on NOA-2 and no touches since June 14th. First I would call and they said we can't say anything until 6 months pass. Now they cite that they are processing forms from April 29th and it may take another 90-120 days. Is anyone else in a similar boat with CSC? I think some people who sent their forms in July have already been approved. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will start calling on a daily basis, but I am not sure what kind of impact those customer service representatives have. I guess I could consider getting a lawyer, but I'm not sure that would expedite anything at this point. I'm curious if anyone is still left without approval from June. They have assured me that they have not misplaced or misfiled my application (not that I believe them). Its especially frustrating because now it seems that its still a lengthy process even after NOA-2 approval.

I doubt they've misplaced or misfiled it either. I think it's just an inefficiency in their system. Not that it's of any comfort, but I think if they *had* to pull your file (like, for instance if your congressman called them asking what the deal was, hint hint :) ) they'd be able to find it.

I spoke to USCIS customer service yesterday as my fiancee and I are getting a little frustrated (we are an 8/2 NOA1). I asked him, "Do you work on a first come, first serve basis"? He answered yes. Then I asked, "then why are others receiving the NOA 2 when their NOA 1's were issued after mine?" He answered, "because every case is different". They told me that we need to wait 6 months. I thought the USCIS estimates (6 months) timeframe was for the entire process (from K1 to visa issuance)?

It is a real pain, because they are very inefficient. Here I am frustrated and my NOA 1 is only four months old. I hate to say it, but I would be ranting and raving if I was at 6 months. I would agree that calling the Congress Rep may be better than calling the so-called "customer service" at USCIS. Maybe your Congress Rep can do a little more ear-bending. If anything, it will good to give yourself a break from making all the calls by yourself!

My thoughts are with you and hope that you get your NOA 2 this week!

You need to try "the RFE trick"... 1-800-375-5283 Then hit 1,2,2,4,2,1 Then enter receipt number, then 1 a couple more times.. If you are lucky, you will get through to the CSC, and can talk to an information officer. If you're just dialing customer service and answering the prompts honestly, you will just get a customer service rep who doesn't know anything.

Good luck!!

The story that I mentioned above was using the RFE trick. Unfortunately it did not work for me. Has anyone used the RFE trick and really got solid information (or made progress on their petition)? Thanks

I was able to get confirmation at one point that my petition has not yet been sent to the NVC (CSC still had it).

My receipt date was June 2nd. I had an RFE at the end of October, they received the RFE early November and I received my NOA2 on November 28th. This is definitely not a "first come first serve" process, in your case, because all the other people (that I've seen on this site) who had a receipt date of June got theirs before me because of my RFE. I'd be throwing a fit if I were you

I'm trying my best to pitch a fit, but i'm not sure exactly who to do it for. I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone directly at CSC and I have written to my congressperson today. Hopefully they can help me out. Is there a direct # for the CSC. I haven't even gotten an RFE, just no response at all

Well it seems like the USCIS call is using a robot to answer our phones because they only know some certain words such as"sorry we can't give u answer until u get 90-120 days"(90-120days? how easy they think it is),or "every case is defferent"....

From the timelines, we do see most of the guys of P1 in July have been approved, so I think some actions need to be acted out, good luck, just try everything, this is really important deal.Good luck!!

Hello,

We know your pain :( . We filed on the 27th July 2007, and recieved our NOA1 on 1 August 2007. We are yet to have our case even touched. How do I call to see how our application is going? What is the number if you are outside the USA?

Hi girl, try this one:

1-800-375-5283, 1,2,2,4,2,1,CASE NUMBER XXX,1,1

basically the application person as the citizen there could get better answer from them as the experience..good luck,~~
