Pregnant while wating for K-1 interview

hey,

I'm requesting my fiance in Dominican Republic. I've been waiting for an interview since 05-04-2005 the date that the counsalte received my petition. In my last trip on Dec 25th - Jan 15th i got pregnant!Does anyone know if this can effect me in a negative or positive way?

It won't affect you in a negative way at all. But, it also will not guarantee you a visa either.

I may get slated but if I was in your position, I would email the embassy to inform them of my position. Granted it doesnt guarantee you a speedy interview date....but I cant see it as hurting to let them know?

It cant do any harm as you are at interview stage already to let them know your circumstances, as long as you make sure you arent looking for any preferential treatment, just a speedier interview date if at al possible. You've already been waiting almost a year since you initially filed.

the pregnancy does not affect your chances at all... but i think if you have a child with the petitioner, it increases your chances, even slightly, especially if you can prove the child is his... (birth certificate) this was our case and i also think this because of the LIFE Act which roughly says that families should not be separated due to process of immigration.

i thought it helped my wife's case. and you know what's funny? the interviewer ask questions about our son more than she asked my wife about us. how old is he? what do you feed him that made him a big baby? where is your dad? to which my son answered "jiosey" (New Jersey).

I spent my pregnancy alone here in the US. Our son is now 8 months old. You can inform them about your pregnancy, but it wont help. Its a first basis kinda thing. Being pregnant will not help your chances. If it did, wed have ALOT of people getting pregnant and then filing for the visa. I didnt even bother to ask them, i filed my petition, and with it i added our sons birth cert. They will see it. If anything, its the best way to prove evidence of meeting your fiance within the past 2 years.
