Hi,

I751 Filed: late Feb 2007

Notice of action received: March 2007. Work/travel authorization extended 1 year until April 2008

Biometrics Appointment: April 2007

Case pending: December 2007

My question is, what happens if my case has not been processed by April when my work/travel authorization expires? Is this likely and, if so, is there a way to extend work authorization beyond this date while the case is still pending?

Get an infopass appt and get your passport stamped. It will extend your status for another year. If by the expiration of the stamp you still don't have your approval, you will need to get another I551 stamp from your local office.

If you still haven't received anything by February I would suggest an infopass to at least get another extension. Good luck

My I-751 has been pending since 04/2006. My GC expired on 05/05 and I am still waiting for the final decision. My question here is am I eligible to apply for Naturalization since its been almost 5 years since I got my PR back in 2003( even though i am still married to U.S Citizen) or I have to wait for my I-751 before actually applying? I don't Know what to do anymore. Please help.... One last question, I just got my passport stamped with i-551 but I never updated my SS card to take out the valid for employment with DHS permit before my GC expired, can I still go and get a new card without the restriction with the I-551 stamp with out any hassle or they are going to give me hard time ? I appreciate the help

You do not have to wait for the I-751 to be approved to apply for naturalization... Most times the filing of naturalizsation forced adjudication of the I-751. Filing for naturalization is one of the typical tactics to get that petition acted on. It should not be a problem for you to apply to get an unrestricted SS card with the passport stamp.

My case has also been pending since Jul 06. I have already applied for the Naturalization in Nov. I just had the fingerprints for the Citizenship done on Dec 31. I also checked on the status of my I751 that day and they told me that the clearance from the FBI was just given to them in Dec and that the delay was most likely to that.

I also have my SS card with the restriction next to it. I didn't know I could get a new one without the restriction.

Do you know why your case has been pending for so long?
