PepeG,

Good luck with the interview. While I haven't had one yet and can't speak from personal experience, I have seen some people here take their wedding invitation. And, in terms of pictures, you could take some vacation pics and some extended family pics. Other than that, I can't think of anything else.

As for printing emails, it depends on your email program. But I'd assume that a print-out of 3-4 sample emails from different times in your relationship would do ("assume" being the keyword).

I have seen similar threads in the past, so a search might be helpful. Also, make sure to read the local reviews here; you probably have done that already! ;-)

Hi Pepe,

Just a reminder to have copies of everything you bring with you to the interview. The officer may ask to keep items, and you should be prepared to hand over copies, but have originals with you also. Same thing applies to pictures. You can have your picture albums with you, but also have an extra set of pictures that you may want to leave with the officer. That's what we prepared, and she asked us to leave with her.

Just a reminder, our officer asked for the original marriage & birth certificates at the AOS interview.

I also brought current paystubs, as it said that was recommended, she said they were not needed if the information was submitted within 4 months, so it was all ok. If you have an outdated employment letter, then maybe a new updated one would be helpful.

We didn't have any emails.

Do you have any utilities together? I didn't see that on your list. Any cell phone bills, gas, electric? Those really help.

Good luck :)

I have 2 copies of my AOS in case they want to keep (another) copy (besides the original copies/documentation that i sent) all the bills are on her name (basically because she moved first alone and now we live together) and (unfortunatelly) we were busy (i know it is no excuse) to join me to those bills.

but having my life/dental/vision/medical/car insurance and also credit cards does count? or not?

also i cant apply for many things because of my score, it seems that it is not really good, because i never used credit cards here before. oh well i am trying to get as much as i can, i dont want to get crazy with this and get too nervous to the interview.

thanks to you both for the answers. how long was your interview? the feedback from charlotte on this site are not updated.

Thanks!

Pepe - we had no utilities together, and didn't even have my name on the lease (bad, oh well). We showed him on my insurance through work, joint pieces of mail, and I made copies of our credit cards (my accounts, he was an authorized user) showing both names, same account number. My husband's name (immigrant, I'm the USC) was on all the utilities, but if you have some utilities in her name and some is your's, that's good proof too. (From you saying everything is in her name, I doubt that's the case but though I'd throw that out there for anyone else.)

Our office wasn't interested in the photos at all - didn't want to see them, didn't ask to see them.

I also had a cell phone bill in my name showing both our numbers, and one bank statement.

This seemed to satisfy her, but she didn't so much look at them as be happy we could provide them. O.o

Don't get too nervous - I'm sure it will be fine. :)

Good luck on your interview, you'll do fine! Just try not to be nervous :) Our IO tried to crack a joke to get us to loosen up, what she didn't know is my hubby is a comedian and that brightened up the rest of the interview.

Good luck,

I look forward to hear about your interview in Charlotte, that's where I should get mine whenever we get scheduled, and if like you it will be in 2 months...

I think what you have is good. You can't come up with more proof of relationship at this point anyway, so anything you have is good.

Oh and if you have mail addressed to both of you from family or other that's a good thing to take (envelop mainly).

let us know.

Hi everybody,

so we went to the interview today. I took all the stuff i described in the beginning of this thread. We got there at 8.15 (interview at 8.30) we entered the building, 3 or 4 guards there (like in the airport) told us to pass all our stuff by a scanner..then we went to a waiting room with a tv showing CNN.

That door has 2 doors, one of them was the one we used for entering (of course hehe) the other was one that was being used by the immigration officers to call by applicant name. so a lady called me and my heart stopped and my hands were freezing :)

we went to her office, she made us swear ("raise your right hand and tell me that you are going to say the truth, etc) and then the interview started. She started asking my wife for her personal info (are you X and live on Y and you were born on Z, etc etc 5 or 10 minutes) same with me (are you X, and live on Y and were born in Z etc etc etc)

after that, she stared at me with her eyes WIDE OPENED and she said, ok i am going to ask you questions

are you a terrorist?

are you a spy for argentina? :-p

all those questions that are on the forms that we fill and we say no to all of them ... you know

i answered NO to all of them but her look scared me hahahah :)

she asked how we met, if we both meet our parents/ parents in law, etc. then, after that, she asked if we rent/own (we own but the house is at her name) so we said no, but we showed the bank account, and a copy with all our credit cards/insurance (car/dental/vision/life/health/etc). Also she asked for pictures (I chose 260 pictures of thousands that we have (i printed at Rite Aid at 0.13$ each :) ) so she looked at all of the pics (we have pics in 3 countries, with family, etc etc)

so after that, she said, I am going to approve you and I forget the rest because I was...really nervous :)

She stamped my passport with a 1-year temporary form signed by her with my A# number, date, etc.

When I got home, I got the email of "your card was being ordered". So that's it :)

My conclusion: the interview is a lottery, it depends on who is going to call you, how nice (or not) the interview is going to be) but in any case, a nice smile and being relaxed is the best option i think.

Thank you everybody at VJ for your help during this time. If you want to know more about my interview feedback please let me know.

Thanks again! good luck to everybody.
