I bought this high protein whey that tastes nasty (as I expected), vanilla flavor. Anyway, I tried to drink like they say with water and almost threw up, but then I decided to make a blend with milk, cinnamon, papaya and flax seed. yum. it tastes divine.

I went to a health food store today with my friend and he bought some tempeh. he was trying to get me to break a piece off and eat it in the car. NO THANKS!!!!! It looked soooooooo gross. he also bought some spirulina. too green for me. I will go back in a few days and try a few of their trial size protein shake mixes cos they had lots of flavors

I know I'm obsessed, so give me a break, but I thought I could share a couple of information for those who like to watch their nutrition and prefer to eat low carbs and high protein:

- peanut butter - pretty much all brands. the regular one has the same amount of protein of the lowfat, it's usually 10 calories more and 4 grams more fat, boohoo. it has over twice the carbs. Who cares about a bit more fat when the regular stuff has less carbs and less sugar. I'm never buying the lowfat ever again, it's good fat after all.

- slim fast high protein: 23g carbs, only 15g protein

- slimfast lowcarb: 4g carbs, 20g protein :bonk: I don't know why they don't call this one low carb high protein

Day four of my diet and it's going well. I stuck to it yesteray, although I was in desperate need for comfort food after my Mom's cat scan results. All I had was a low fat hot milk with a spoon of honey.

I think in gerneral, comfort food is my issue. I am an emotional eater. I always eat healty food, but when I am frustrated I have a huge portion of pasta followed by desert in the evenings. And that happens more often then it should :)

I feel a little lighter, I think I already got rid of my muffin top! :P

I haven't done too well this week because I've been so sick. All I've wanted to eat was ice cream! I had 540 of my calories today in ice cream  I can't wait until I feel better

that ain't that much :P I can eat a million cal in ice cream, I just love it

I've been doing good. Also working out more, my weight is pretty stable.

I'm a mood eater. I've noticed if I'm bored, frustrated, I eat more. Even at work, if I'm really busy I don't care about food, but if I'm extremely bored I have to really control myself.

  • 2 weeks later...
Filed: Timeline

By the way, I think I have lost about 3kg (about 7lbs) so far with my diet (I don't have a scale, I just can tell by how my clothes fit). I works really well, I am never hungry. I stopped on the weightwatchers and I just eat whole foods. Only "good" carbs like brown natural rice or whole grain bread, lots of vegetables and a bit of meat, plus a little bit of low fat yoghurt for my calcium intake. And a sugar free muesli bar, when I crave something sweet.

The weight loss might be a bit slow, but I rather have it dropping slowly insetad of losing it fast and then gaining it back fast!

Hello,

I just found this tread and wanted to see if anyone here has heard of the I can make you thin guy Paul Mckenna on TLC and started the 4 principles. He doesn't believe in dieting. So anyway, I have dieted my entire life up until this point and have been following his principles for 2 weeks and I've lost 7 lbs!! I'm so excited. I wanted to see if any VJers were doing the same thing while we're waiting on our SO to join our world.

Wakey!

Intimacy, like charity, begins at home. If we cannot be intimate with ourselves, we have no way to bring to intimacy with another person.

Intimacy with ourselves takes time. We need time for rest, time for walks, time for quiet, and time to tune into to ourselves. We cannot completely fill up our lives with activities and become intimate with ourselves. Nor can we just sit quietly indefinitely and become intimate with ourselves. We have to have the time and energy to be our lives and to do our live in order to establish and intimate relationship with ourselves.

Surprisingly, as we become intimate with ourselves, we discover our connection with others

Well he teaches a lot of principles but primarily the four principles are:

1. Eat when you're hungry

2. Don't eat what you think you should ( meaning don't eat diet food; eat what your body wants)

3. Eat consiously - put the knife and fork down and enjoy each mouthful of food

4. When you are full stop eating (you listen to your stomach and stop when you feel full)

Here is his website where he also teaches how to control emotional eating and cravings. He teaches this tapping thing for emotional eating and I'm like the biggest emotional eater of all. I get upset I go for chocolate cake. I get happy I go eat a box of cereal every life event required food. lol Anyway, now I do this tap thing and guess what I don't go for the food anymore. I'm like in paradise. I know it's only been two weeks but I'm sooo extremly happy with this no diet way of losing weight. I feel in control.

I guess we will see. I have tried every diet in the world so why not do this. You know this reminds me of when I was child and in control and didn't eat until I felt like it before my mom used to make me eat because she slaved over a hot stove. lol. I was naturally thin then. If you think about it kids do it all the time. Babies eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full. My fiance also eats whatever he wants no rules and guidelines just eats when he is hungry and just doesn't overeat. I know I've used food to medicate my feelings and emotions which is not what is meant for. It's no wonder extra pounds came to visit and didn't want to leave. :)

Hi everyone,

I think i am going to be a regular of this thread. I need to lose a good 20 lbs to be back where i used to be not so long ago.

A lot of working out and cutting out carbs and sweet is involved. Hopefully, i will start seeing something soon.

Good luck to everyone.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.
