Yeah they told Rey he couldn't have it but he said he tried quitting before and then they gave it to him. Weird. I guess you could always lie.

I wouldn't like recommend Chantix because I know it messes a lot of people up, but for Rey it's been a total wonderdrug. And now I like his smell!

well I think the only real bad thing about taking Chantix is mixing with alcohol, and Charles hardly ever drink anything.

the thing is I know he has been totally stressed out these last couple of months... with his mom dying back in October and us losing the baby in December and not liking his job much and going to school plus working full time...

I know this is probably why he has been smoking so much...

It's a respect issue. If it bothers you that much, he should be responding to that. IMHO, of course.

I agree alex and that's why Neil doesn't smoke anymore. well that and the whole feel my wrath thing from yesterday :lol:

I am planning on getting a job soon but we first need to get another car.. which we are thinking of doing with some of the tax money....

hubby will still have to work the same hours though or else he will probably get fired... they are already being very lenient with letting him get off early to go to tschool...

Exercise question.....

I've been doing the following treadmill workout:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

* Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)

* Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)

* Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)

* Walk 1/4 mile (or 2-1/2 minutes)

* Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)

* Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)

* Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)

I'm really having problems with this muscle though on the outside of my shins (tibialis anterior I think). It gets really sore when I do the walking intervals. I notice that it only starts to hurt *after* I run, when I slow down to a brisk walk. Then if I go even slower, it hurts more. I'm worried my form isn't great when running.

Anyone else experience this?

The only real issue I have with this is....

Was the husband a smoker before you got married? If so, the respect issue goes the other way.... you knew what you were getting into when you married him. (The 'you' is generic) You can't marry someone and then try to change everything about them. I react quite poorly to that kind of behaviour, and I know it's one of the top 5 "I hate my wife!" reasons that men discuss when away from the female influence.

I've gone outside to smoke since the day Mags and Jordan arrived. There have been a few times - when my back went out last week, for instance, where I'd open a window and hang half-outside smoking. I've always smoked in my truck since I bought it new, so there wasn't any point saying "no smoking" in there. It wouldn't have gone over well, either. I've never smoked in Mags' car though. Hopefully it isn't going to be an issue again. I'm tired of quitting.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

what if they knew you hated it and wanted them to quit before you even met in RL? or before you even got married? or RIGHT when you met?

Honestly?

If Mags had said to me "One condition of my moving there and marrying you is that you quit smoking." I would have had a serious issue with it. However, if the guy entered into it knowing that...*shrugs* ....then he's the one who has to live with his choice.

I'm pretty accomodating, but my niceness stops when someone TELLS me what to do. I rebel against that and do the opposite.

Are you talking about shin splints? Have you been running for long? I have a real problem with this, especially when I just start up. Have you got proper running shoes?

I don't know if I'm talking about shin splints. I always hear people talking about them and I've never really known what they are. Aren't they more in the front of your shin though? Mine hurt on the sides.

And yeah, I just started up. My shoes are running shoes, but they're pretty old. Maybe they need replacing?

Replace your shoes! Even with good new shoes that happened to me and it was actually my ankle. I hair-fractured something there and it hurt to walk for two months. Yikes.

My advice is..... stop running!

You'll get that "Runner's Face" where you always look like you're in pain. I've never understood why so many people do something that makes them look like they hate life AND it tears the ####### out of you too. I recommend cycling, of course. Very easy on the knees, shins, and ankles. Plus, I hardly ever see someone frowning or looking like they hate life when they're riding a bike.

Mine are more along the front that I get. I think you want to replace your shoes. My dad, who coached track and cross country for 35+ years always told me to never skimp on the shoes! I think they will often be a problem when you start up but they should subside - I'd worry if they haven't after the first 2 weeks.

I also think most treadmills don't always have the best impact absorbtion. I don't run on them for that reason (although the ones at my gym are crappy) - I do walk briskly on an incline and get a great workout. I prefer running on grass or a proper track (or on the beach - although that's not an option for most people).

I did not know my hubby smoked as much as he does before I met him because he never smoked when he was with me.. I found out he smoked shortly after I moved here....

ok, I did ask him if he smoked and he said occasionally.....
