I am trying to get my hubby to quit smoking.. I know it has to be his idea... :P

he did quit last year .. and he did pretty good.. I know he smoked the occasional cig though... but this last couple of months he has been smoking a lot more .. even more then he used to smoke... it doesn't help that a loot of guys at work and school smoke, plus his dad and brothers smoke....

I wish I could get Charles to quit smoking mainly cuz it would save us a lot of money at the end of the month, but oh well, he won't..

quit smoking. I can benefit more from him quitting smoking. He'll smell better, his health will improve, he'll live longer so I can nag him longer, the house will smell better, we'll save money.

IF he learns portuguese I can't cuss him in portuguese anymore, and when we go to Brazil I don't get to feel good by ordering the waiter, the cab driver, etc. Charles thinks that's a man's job, well, I prefer it to be my job.

However, don't underestimate the fun of having a *secret language* :P

Unfortunately for us, as more time separates me from hearing Portuguese every day, my Portuguese gets worse and worse and worse to the point that Rey spends most of the time I'm speaking our *secret language* correcting my word choice.

I am lucky that hubby doesn't smoke in the house but it still does come in on this clothes...

i tired the money angle on hubby too but it didn't work... he spent about 50 bucks on smokes in just over a month... :o

I just want him to be healthy.... what is the point of him going to the gym if he is still smoking...

he also has high blood pressure and his on medication for that...

I have noticed that is face is sometimes is really warm and I wonder if it is a combination of the smoking and the high blood pressure...:wacko:

well I asked Charles to smoke outside the house, at least at first when I was quitting cuz it would make it really difficult for me if he were smoking around me. Then I started to feel sorry cuz it's freaking cold outside, but the smell of smoke is terrible. If I had never smoked I don't think I'd mind as much as being a former smoker. It really annoys me.

Me too. The smell makes me much more ill now than it did before. I begged Rey to quit because I started to find the smell revolting. It is never good to be revolted by your spouse!

wow just make your men quit smoking! that's what I did. he has had maybe 3 cigs since he quit in january 2008 and he doesn't smoke because he knows I have a nose that can smell it hours later AND he will get completely b*tched out. :) plus I had my dr tell him as long as anyone is smoking around me I will never stop getting sick all the time. it worked AND I'm not getting sick anymore :)

and he can take that Chantix for free if he has a hard time quitting by himself, it's so easy, but no, not only that way, so oh well.

Yeah they told Rey he couldn't have it but he said he tried quitting before and then they gave it to him. Weird. I guess you could always lie.

I wouldn't like recommend Chantix because I know it messes a lot of people up, but for Rey it's been a total wonderdrug. And now I like his smell!

lol.. the bitching doesn't work for me... I have tried that... I have also tried crying and begging and pleading.. I have told him that the smell is not very attractive...lol nothing seems to work....

I get serious migraine headaches if I am around too much smoke... so I am glad he doesn't smoke in the house or around me....

we had worked out a deal that he wouldn't smoke in the car but he already has broken that rule...
