oh that's so mean of rey! don't call her fat! bad man! I worked out today...I did 20 push ups and then my arms fell off

Oo I'm inspired, I'm gonna do yoga... he didn't call me fat... he just reminded me that I'm "completely unrecognizable" from when we met, because I'm 25-30 lbs heaver atm. Oops. I still think I look hot though, regardless... :)

I started exercising with my kettlebells this weekend. I sure hope they really do help with the toning to make all this pain worth it.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

are those the really heavy balls? nevermind just googled it. interesting

They are very deceiving. The exercises you do using them use a variety of muscles in one fell swoop......legs, arms, butt, stomach........My son, who lifts weights all the time, did the workout with me. He was like, this is a lot harder then it looks.

So far, I am really liking them. I found them on gofit.com.

Thanks for all the fats info guys :D

I go to the gym and run and I want to do all of the weight machines, but I'm embarassed too, so I think I'm gonna be all clunkily like...some muscles developed, some just not, by the time I graduate :( Do running and ab workouts and pushups and that's it.

I have this great job with great perks if you're a starving college student, but it's bad for me :( Usually I'm an office worker but a couple nights a week there are these big events that we cater for...last night was one...how do you NOT pig out with so much amazing food around and brownies literally the size of my head :(

But ah well. I've decided to not...care so much.

Does anybody else think that when they're apart from their SO, or if you still are, you gain weight? It's insane. When I'm with my fiance I eat like a horse, ie. everything he eats, and terrible junk food high fat stuff too - do get more exercise but not THAT much more, but amazingly I always come home after a couple months and I haven't gained but a pound or two. Then when I'm not with him, I eat like...nothing, exercise a good deal, and don't really lose. It doesn't make sense. I think maybe sad vs. happy hormones or stress or something inhibits weight loss.

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

I hope you mean you only ate 500 calories in like...a meal.

I had eaten 500 so far, it was still afternoon. I ate more after I came home, I always eat when I come home from the gym. But I weighted myself before eating, which meant I had already burned at least 2000 calories since morning and I had eaten only 500 calories and my scale showed I gained 3lbs, you know what I mean? It's just crazy!

Probably water retention. No way you gained 11000 calories worth of food otherwise. :) Had you been eating anything particularly salty?

Alex, yoga is awesome, and more of a workout than it seems at first glance! I like it because aside from the strength & flexibility gains, you really learn about what your body is capable of and what it's designed to do. You'll find that you can do some things easily and some things are hard, and it's just how your body is made and where it excels, which is kind of neat.

I'm sure it was water retention. I had come back from the gym and I had lots of water. I didn't eat anything salty, Pretty much everything I had that day was sweet, yogurt, protein bar, oatmeal, with the exception of 1 can of tuna, which I know has not much sodium.

Hmmm. Well, nothing to worry about at any rate. Hormones, anything, can cause a 3 pound swing in weight. I try to judge my weight on the range I'm moving in, as opposed to the exact number.

Yeah, I find that in yoga classes I get really frustrated because like all the women in my family, I'm naturally short-muscled and have a hard time doing things that ask flexibility of me, especially now that I'm not on any dance teams like I was as a kid. So I thought maybe doing it at home would be better, because I wouldn't have to compare myself to other people in the room, and then feel like a failure or something.

Re: water retention, my weight has been known to fluctuate up to 8 pounds in one day. Once, the week before my period, I gained 15 pounds that stayed on for three days. A three-pound difference doesn't matter; I just try to weigh myself at the same time of day and watch the general trajectory. Rey, however, weighs the same exact thing at any time of day, over and over and over again, despite what he eats or drinks.
