The embassy receives the case from NVC in a couple of weeks.
It takes another couple of weeks to wait for dates to become available and schedule the interview. Usually interviews are available within 2 to 3 months. This information is accurate as of June 2022.

Court Record(s) (Original AND English translation with copy), If any applicant has been arrested, charged, convicted, or imprisoned in any country.
Police Certificate (Original AND English translation with copy), If any applicant has lived in any other foreign country for more than 12 months, where a police certificate is available (check link) OR was arrested for any reason, regardless of how long they lived there. Police certificates for Turkey must include the archive records check (Arsiv kayitli Adli Sicil Kaydi), but do not need to be translated.
Prior marriage documents (Original AND English translation with copy), Marriage Certificate, Divorce Certificate and/or Death Certificate regarding your prior spouse(s), If applicable.
I-134, Affidavit of Support (Original), If you are a Diversity or Fiancée Visa applicant and you have a sponsor, then you should use I-134 Affidavit of Support form.
I-864, Affidavit of Support (Original).
Medical exam, All immigrant visa applicants are required to undergo a medical examination by a panel physician designated by the consular section. The validity of the medical exam will determine the visa validity, which will be the last day to enter the United States.
PTT registration receipt, Each passport holder applying for a visa must register their passport pickup location with Turkish Post (PTT) before coming to the Embassy by using the provided link or calling +90-850 390 2884 (or 703-520-2490 from inside the United States). Failure to register your appointment at this web site will delay your entry at the Embassy gate on the day of your interview.

Not long, especially if the interview is early in the day. Showing up 45 to an hour early is sufficient.

Vaccination requirements? |
Beneficiary should bring "vaccination records" with them to the medical examination in order to help the physician determine what vaccinations are necessary. However, if the vaccination record is not available, the physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirements. COVID vaccination proof required at the medical exam. |

Cheap and good hotels near the Consulate? |
Ramada Wyndham Hotel: Decent walking distance, mid-ranking hotel with AC. Recently renovated, the staff are nice.
Dedeman Hotel. (if you can live with generator running at night, cold eggs in the morning, people smoking in the non-smoking floors). I'd look elsewhere as well near the embassy... Visit tripadvisor.com for hotels around the embassy.
Nisantasi My Residence is more like small studio apartments for very good prices. The rooms are modern and clean and in a good location and in the same area as the approved hospital in Istanbul. |

You cannot bring backpacks, large purses and electronics (including phones) into the embassy. Bring only your documents or be prepared to leave the rest of your belongings at the cafe across the street for 5 liras.
Be sure to email the embassy in advance to let them know if you would like to attend the interview as well. Ask they reply with something stating this your doing this would be possible. Some USC have had difficulty and only been allowed in due to having an email reply like this.
