Vaccination requirements? United States immigration law requires immigrant and K visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations (listed below) prior to the issuance of a visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations are now required to verify that visa applicants have met the new vaccination requirement, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccinations:
-- Acellular pertussis -- Hepatitis A
-- Hepatitis B
-- Influenza
-- Influenza type b (Hib) -- Measles
-- Meningococcal
-- Mumps
-- Pneumococcal -- Pertussis
-- Polio
-- Rotovirus
-- Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids -- Varicella
In order to assist the panel physician, and to avoid processing delays, all immigrant and K visa applicants should have their vaccination records available for the panel physician's review at the time of the medical examination. You should consult with your regular health care provider to obtain a copy of your immunization record, if one is available. If you do not have a vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of the panel physician.
Only a physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical.

Note: Go get the vaccinations before the medical exam to save on costs. Bumrungrad is more like a hotel than a hospital. It's extravagant. As such, the prices are extravagant as well. Get the list of vaccination requirements from the NVC website. Take that to the local hospital and have the vaccinations administered and vaccination record updated there.(TB)

Cheap and good hotels near the Consulate? Take the Skytrain from this hotel to the embassy's Skytrain stop which is only two or three stops from the hotel. You can e-mail the hotel for reservations WITHOUT credit card guarantee but don't abuse this arrangement. Contact the hotel if you must cancel your reservation. http://www.bangkokhotels.info/honey.htm Go to the website and then click on thier e-mail address: honeyho@ksc.th.com

Harder to locate by taxis but almost as close to embassy is: http://www.bourbonstbkk.com.

Update: Bourbon St. has moved to Ekkamai (soi 63) Washington square on soi 22 has been torn down.

This one is located on Sukhumvit, soi 4. It is not a place to stay if your fiancee is with you as the girly clubs are located in the same soi.

Another thing to remember is that most hotels offer a "farang" rate and a "Thai" rate. It is often better to have your Thai fiance make the reservation via phone in her name rather than book online.
Additional Info? Please Be advised that you can come to the Embassy with your fiance or spouse on there interview day,you just can't go up with them when they are being interviewed, you can hear the whole interview as well as everyone else's it's a wide open room with plenty of seats.
Update: That seems to be only possible with some tricks. Whoever posted the above info please disclose the trick. With the appointment letter only the beneficiary was allowed to enter.

"REQUIREMENT Photos for Medical form say " THREE 1 x 1 1/2inch" ,BUT WHEN MY WIFE WENT TO Bumrungrad Hospital ON MARCH 7,2009, THEY NEEDED ONLY ONE PHOTO. MEDICAL TOOK ABOUT BETWEEN 3-4 HOURS."

Police Clearance Service Center website: http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eservice.php

As of March 2009, about 1 week* to obtain Police Certificate, *if Applicant has clean record. (Make/Keep Photocopy, in English, No Translation Needed.)
If you request the police station to mail your certificate, they send it via Thai Post EMS so you should get it in under a week. However, they don't send it until the day that you could have come to pick it up.

The Police Clearance Service Center:
Building 24, Royal Thai Police,
Rama I, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330

Phone : 0-2205-2168-9
Fax: 0-2205-1295
E-mail : pcscenter@royalthaipolice.go.th

Note: You can use the NOA1 to get your police certificate. You do not need to wait for the NOA2. Remember, though, that PCCs are valid for 6 months only. Also, this is a FREE service for Thai citizens. The normal processing time is 2 weeks. Do NOT let yourself be tricked into paying for it. If you apply for the PCC too early and it think it will expire before the interview, simply request another one after receipt of NOA2. (TB)

As of March 2013, it takes about 3 weeks to get police certificate and it costs 100 THB for processing fee, 50 THB for the postage.
