Approx Waiting Time for Interview After Consulate Recieves

It may vary between visa type.
For K-1 it is usually fast, and can be as soon as 2 weeks after sending back packet 3. It can also be as long as a month after sending the consulate packet 3. For Cr-1/Ir-1 it may take up to 2 months to get interview date. Other visa type is usually the same with Cr-1/Ir-1.
Once the interview date is emailed, medical check up can be done at least one week prior to the date as the result will be available within 5-7 working days. |

For K-1 visas, packet 3 is a list of documents the benficiary must bring to the interview along with instructions for the medicacl exam. The consulate will first contact the petitoner via e-mail to confirm the application, and will ask for the benificiary's e-mail address. The consulate will then contact the benificiary, and request the benficiary inform the consulate once s/he has all his/her documents ready for the interview.
The consulate is directly sending email with interview date and further instruction in packet 4. |

For K-1 visas, packet 4 is the reply the consulate sends to the benificiary once s/he has confirmed s/he has all the documents ready for the interview. Packet 4 is the interview date and instructions for the interview (where to go, what documents to bring, and what order they should be in).
Packet 4, or the interview date is given when NVC sends the package to the consulate.
It contains:
1. Interview date
2. Instruction for medical check up
3. All required documents to be presented at interview. |

Starting December 2014 (or perhaps November 2014), US embassy Jakarta is no longer provide visa pick-up at the embassy. The consulate is using a courier service to deliver the passport and immigrant visa package to the applicant. As of April 2009, the base fee is still Rp 800,000. With vaccinations the total fee will come to about Rp 1,200,000, Although that may vary per person.
As per August 2015, the base fee is Rp 1,050,000. Plus 2 kinds of vaccination the total fee will be about Rp 1,600,000.
In March 2018, my fiance paid over RP 3,000,000.00 for Medical Exam, then was required to have a Septum Test over a three day period and that was an additional Rp1,800,000.00 plus RP 700,000.00 for X ray. Now have to wait 3 months for Septum Test Results. |

As of March 1st 2015, all Immigrant Visa applicants must go to Premier Bintaro Hospital since SOS International clinic is no longer Jakarta Consulate medical provider. Applicants who started the process with SOS International Clinic prior to March 1st 2015 may continue to completion.

1-4 hrs. Personal experiences on VJ are 1-2 hrs waiting, but heard someone waited for 5 hrs for interview. It depends. |
Vaccination requirements? |
Usually the panel physicians will give the applicant 4 types of injections, which included:
1. MMR (Mumps, Measles, Rubella ) ( in one injection)
2. Influenza
3. Toxoid tetanus and diptheria (one injection)
4. Varicella. This depends on the discretion of the physician. Some physician will not giving this vaccine if the applicant has had chicken pox exposure before. |

Additional Info? |
1. The Jakarta Consulate is not accepting Indonesia Police Certificate. There is of no importance to try to obtain it as the consulate NEVER request for it.
2. If the applicant had/has stayed outside Indonesia for more than one year it is advisable to obtain the police certificate from the country that covers the duration of time of living in the country. Be advised the certificate must still be valid during the interview.
3. K-1 visa fees are paid the day of the interview, not in advance.
