ENTOTO HOTEL: BUDGET ROMANCE
The Entoto Hotel is romantic Hotel. It is set in a garden area of its own and is in the quietest area in Addis Ababa. It is located in the relatively up-scale area of Siddist Kilo between Addis Ababa University and the American Embassy on the road (up) to the Entoto mountains. I did not see the rooms, but would guess a room goes for $30-40 a night. They also had a large conference/banquet facility and a recreational centre next door. If you want a bit of piece and quite in a nice setting at an economical price, but still only a short shared taxi ride to everything – here you are.

Additional Info? |
2 Passport photos required for police certificate (can be b/w)
K3 filing / interview may be done on a walk-in basis if the petitioner appears at the Consulate in person and pleads his/her case sufficiently. Otherwise, the Consulate will schedule the interview within 6-10 weeks of receiving the file from the NVC.
Upon receiving packet 3, the applicant should complete all documents requested on the checklist and obtain both the medical and police certificate. Medical takes appr. 3 days total to complete. Police Certificate takes 2 weeks but can be expedited upon request (we had ours within 3 days).
The problem in terms of total processing time appears to be that the Consulate will take time to actually send out packet 3 (word is that this may take 1-2 months easily). If the USC petitioner is in Addis, the petitioner can pick-up packet 3 at the Consulate by showing the NVC letter. This speeds things up dramatically.
The interview was rather easy in our case but we spoke to applicants that have been back for the third or fourth time. My take was that a complete and accurate filing along with good relationship evidence is the key to a speedy processing of the visa. Also, for all couples that are mixed, the Ethiopian K3 visa applicant will very likely have to go through the interview in English unless it can be established that the petitioning USC spouse speaks Amharic (or one of the other native tongues).
As part of the new DS-160 application, you will be required to upload a photograph.
