My husband Stepson and I all arrived at the Embassy around 6am. Our interview was at 7am. There were already a lot of people there. My husband's uncle dropped us off at the front since there is no parking at the embassy. There are parking areas a little bit east of the Embassy. Cellphones are not allowed at the embassy so we wrote down phone numbers we would need at the end. Since we had a minor child with us we were placed in a line that would go inside first. We first had to do a security search at the first building. They make you remove everything out of your pocket and you also need to take your watches off. After the security check was complete, we were instructed to proceed to another building.

I checked the time entering the 2nd building. It was 6:45am. My husband stood in another line while I sat down. When he was called we all proceeded to a window where a lady reviewed all the papers that were sent from NVC. She first asked for both appointment letters. She then asked for the sealed medical records, police record, original birth certificate, original marriage certificate, and passport from my husband. She asked if I was the petitioner and I said yes. For my stepson she asked for his passport, medical records and and original birth certificate. She handed both my husband and I both a pamphlet about domestic violence. She stapled #107 to both appointment letters then we sat back down and waited again. At this time is it about 7:25 AM.

Once we sat down we patiently waited as numbers were being displayed at different window. When our number was called my heart jump. The interview was done by a man. I first swore my husband in. He asked the following questions.

What is your name?
How did you meet?
When did you get married?
So you got married on (date)? - No that is the date we met....(trick question)
So you met and got married right away? Tell me more about the relationship?

Question for me: What made you attracted to him? I answered
He asked me to elaborate more since we had only met in person and married 2 months after.
I told him in English and I am in love with him and that I love his sense of humor. I then elaborated that in 2016 we both lost our moms within 6 months of each other and during the entire time we were supportive of each other. He said sorry about that and the questions ended. He made my husband place his right had on a fingerprint scanner and then he finally said the magic words.....Congratulations your visas are approved.

I was so relieved when I heard those words. By around 8:15 we were out of the embassy. Outside there were a lot of people waiting. My advise is not to go too early because during the day they don't even let you wait right outside the embassy. There were people with 9 and 9:30 appointments all the way down the street waiting. I guess they do that for security but it was alittle bit crazy. On the corner there are people with flip phones where you can make a phone call and they just ask you for a tip.

The whole process was very organized and since I sent so many proof to NVC. I did not have to show them proof of anything during the interview. We had chosen to have the passport picked up at the office where the fingerprints were done and in 2 days the passports were ready to go.
