Other than being one of the first there, but last to actually leave everything went great! Much easier and less stressful than anticipated.

Check-in process was simple. This consulate highly encourages the presence of the petitioner for relationship based visas. Security screening is quick, guards make an effort to speak a little spanish, a really small minority are quiet rude to Cubans who don't speak english. Interview process was also quick, maybe 15 minutes. From check-in to approval we spent a total of an hour at the consulate.
The not great part is the waiting and the lack of any clear timeline for when the visa will be available. I think if the government is going to ask people to travel to a third country for processing, they can make a better effort to provide clear timelines because travel arrangements need to be made. Saying it could be 10 days or at least 5 business days is a little wishy washy for me.
