I had a great experience at the Montreal consulate. I'll try to be as thorough as I can in this review for anyone who's feeling anxious about their upcoming appointment.

A warning for anyone driving into the city, google maps had me getting there with an hour to spare, but because of traffic accidents and construction delays along the way I made it there exactly at my appointment time.
There is a paid parking lot behind the consulate with flat rate parking (cash only iirc) There is street parking in the neighbouring streets but some of them seem to be permit only, and they do monitor and ticket there.

There isn't any outward facing signage for the consulate, but you will see people lining up outside the glass doors next to the RBC. The security guard will come out and call out appointment times 10-15 minutes ahead. In my case, I got there right as they were calling the next batch, so I told him my appointment time and name, and he let me in. Once yo... read complete review

My appointment was at 8:45 on September 12th, 2024. The traffic in Montréal is quite bad so I would recommend leaving about an hour and a half before your appointment. I got to the building around 8:20, there was people waiting outside for their appointment. There was one girl who also had the same appointment time as me but most other people were waiting for a 9:00+ appointment. A officer will come outside asking for you appointment time, about 15 minutes before your appointment she'll come back out and take the next needed group.

When you first walk in they ask for your passport and name. They have a long list of names and they'll cross yours off. The first floor is quite small but completely resembles a TSA area. You'll be asked to put everything you brought into a plastic container and that will go through an Xray machine. You'll then take your phone and put it into a small locker that that have available. It's only large enough to fit a phone and maybe small wall... read complete review

I had my interview this morning in Montreal. The whole process was very simple and everyone was very courteous and nice.
My appointment was at 7:30. I got there around 7:20 and got in the building around 7:35. I went through the security check. Make sure you do not bring a big bag and unnecessary electronics. They ask you to put your phone in a box, locked with a key you keep on yourself.

You get to sit in a very well lit room and you have to wait for your number, previously given to you by the security.
I got called for my documents. They asked for:
My passport
My original birth certificate with translation
My original marriage certificate
They asked if my husband or I have been married before (no) or if we have kids (no)
My police clearance document
A passport picture

They took my fingerprints afterwards and then told me I'm good to go. It took about 15-20 minutes (Maybe less. I didn't have a way ... read complete review

Because I have read a lot of reviews on here that discuss getting delayed and/or other negative outcomes, I wanted to quickly drop a note from a more positive experience. If anything, our bigger delay was the time between my spouse being approved by USCIS and her children being approved. USCIS issued my wife's approval in late October but then didn't approve the children until February. So that was very frustrating because the first approval triggered the NVC process and we were really hopeful to have things moving fairly quickly. However, this turned out to be somewhat good anyway, because in gathering all the documents for NVC, we found a couple of issues that took time to fix. So by the time the children were approved in February, we really had our documents correct.

As for the consulate in Montreal, after a February approval from USCIS, the NVC did their paperwork approval in a couple of weeks and then they notified us in April of an early May interview time. My wife... read complete review
