Early Medical Examination -- Call Ahead or Drop in?

Hi,

I am a little confused about what we should do to get an early medical examination for Joy at St. Luke's. Her embassy interview is scheduled for Feb. 7, and St. Lukes is scheduled for Jan 30. However, we want Joy to go to St. Lukes on either Jan. 8-9 or Jan. 15-16.

Do we need to call St. Luke's ahead of time and reschedule the early appointment dates, or should Joy just drop in? I have heard conflicting stories. Some folks say that St. Luke's always refuses early appointments when attempted to be arranged by phone, but will allow drop-ins on early dates. What should she do? Thanks.

Marc

I had Cherry drop in and she was able to get it done one month early.

from what I've read, many have done their medical early just by dropping in. I've seen others post

St. Lukes will not reschedule early by phone. I'd have her just drop in early.

From all that I've read, many are taking an early medical. Most advise not going on Monday as that day is the most crowded. Just take your appointment letter, NOA #2, passport and 2 2"s2" passport pictures, and of course the money. PHP equivelant of $145. If you haven't gotten your appointment letter yet and your sponsor can't e-mail or fax you a copy, copy the appointment from the embassy web site and print.
