Hi VJ,

I'm getting worried about filing the I-134 since I still owe 8G in the bank and I have no savings. However, if they are looking for establishment employer, well I have been working in the same company for 4 years now but I don't think that will be a strong support. This coming next year I will get another job but again I don't think that's counted. The only thing I have left is to ask my father to be my sponsor because my father has a lot of assets and he makes way more than poverty line. The big question is, can he be my sponsor? Or I can be eligible to sponsor my fianceee?

Please help us VJ, I know the fact that this has has been a topic for several times but again I need some clarification.

A big thank you,

flavorgreentea

Your debts are not a factor. Your income is. If you've worked for the same employer 4 years and earn over the I25% poverty level for your State, you qualify to sponsor.

Actually reading the I-134 instructions then looking through the form itself would have told you that. I highly recommend it.

Okay I just don't quite understand the "sponsor's household size" part. For what I understand, since I'm going to sponsor only my fiancee that means in the first category meaning my household size is (2) is it?

Right, you count yourself, anyone else that depends on you (which seems to be no one in your case) and your fiancee.

Debt is not a deciding factor, only your current income earning ability or current tax returns.

Pushbrk, you must have worked for the same employer for 4 years? What if you just switched jobs but you've made well over the 125% for the past 8 years?

Switching jobs is fine too. The "you" in this case, refers to the OP who has worked at the same job for 4 years. The key in this situation comes after the word "and". No word like "must" was used.

So I live at home with my parents but make about 15,000 working part time, where does that put me? Would I count as one in the household?

Your household is two, you and your fiance. Your parents' household could include you but doesn't really have to.

Unless you increase your income, it means you'll need an additional sponsor. Please read the instructions that come with both the I-134 and the I-864.

Okay that clears the household numbers. Thanks. Yes I figured a Co-Signer would be needed.
