Gogo, there are always and I mean ALWAYS going to be people in this world that we don't get along with.

You have had a very hard road, just as others have and many people have compassion for you. Ask for help or answers to your questions, people will try and help you, those who don't, simply IGNORE.

You are causing yourself much more stress than needs to be.

Stay strong, try to keep positive and focus on your relationship, things will be ok :)

Hi just_Jackie... there is something wrong with your timeline..

Processing

Estimates/Stats : Your I-129f was approved in 415 days from your filing date.

Your I-130 was approved in 647 days from your filing date.

Your interview took 560 days from your I-130 filing date.

How can your interview days (560) be less than your I-130 approval (647)? Have you really waited that long? I'm sorry to hear that.. =( So what happened to the lawyer error? That cost you over 1 year wait? Do you think going with a lawyer is worth it (I want to hire a lawyer for this "security check" problem)?

Thanks Laura and Nick.. guess some people are just that way.. I'm been looking around for a good lawyer.. what do you guys think of this one?

http://www.rreeves.com

They are a team of about 15 lawyers, all dealing in immigration.. but first I have to prepare my information (copy of I-130, I-129F, emails, receipts, phone records.. etc) all over again because I gave it to my wife when I went back to China in October.. I don't want her to send her copy, because if it gets lost in the mail.. then we are both lost for good.. so probably the start of the new year when I'll make my move.. Also forgot to tell you guys.. when I called USCIS on December 4, they said my case was still under "current processing times".. they said the 6 months ISN'T for approval time, but for when they START TO LOOK at my case.. what a bunch of BS...

also, here's a good blog on recent immigration news...

I'm really not a great person to ask about Lawyers as we have filed on our own. Have you been in contact with them?

Perhaps call them and discuss your case, I don't know if they do free phone consultations or not but some firms do.

Good Luck!

nope,,nothing wrong with the timeline. My husband came on a K3. The I130 took 17 months at Nebraska. The lawyer sent the K3 to the wrong place and cause 2 additional RFE's.

It was all for naught tho I am afraid. After securing a 10 year greencard, my husband of 5 years took off his wedding ring and walked out the door, never to return.

Jackie, I'm sorry to hear about the sad news.. was it true love or was he tired of the whole visajourney? sorry, have another question for you Jackie... The green card is issued when you arrive and based on # of years married.. since you got such a big delay on your case, did that have any effect on getting a 10-year green card? (less than 2 years, you get Conditional, and more than 2 years you get 10-year card).. were you married already 2 years before you applied? I wonder if they do delay me that much, will I fall under the 10-year card instead?

Welcome back GOGO.

wow Just Jackie I'm sorry about your unfortunate experience.

GOGO welcome back!! some of us are very happy to see you here! you have always been very helpful to me and i value all of your experience. I wish there was something I could do for you in your time of need! I do have to say your email to the vp was an excellent idea and its something I'm going to do if I can't get my senators to stop the termination of my K3. I really hope you don't leave again. There are people in here who pray for you and care about you and your wife that would like to know the outcome or see your progress. We're pulling for you.. please don't let us always wonder if you're ok.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for. Just an opinion about lawyers? I happen to think they take your money and do nothing. The majority of them don't act fast. I personally think you would be better off continuing your own research. You care more about your situation than any lawyer would. I don't think they have any intimidation perks either. USCIS doesn't care if you are Gogo or Gogo, Esquire. They'll stick it to you either way. (I don't think they care if you are Congressman Gogo either). I have a feeling that if you hire a lawyer you will be calling him/her everyday telling him/her what you found out anyway. You will be a free course on immigration for him/her. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go for an initial consultation to see what you can find out. Pick their brains!

Have you tried that Ombudsman route?

Ditto to this. There are people on here who truly care about your journey. I am as invested in the journeys of those who I have been going through this all along side me, as I am with my own journey. It is heartbreaking for you to be stuck in the process and not know the next time your petition may be looked at but keep yourself and your wife strong. Being together at the end of all this will be worth every peice of heartache you are going through now. If I was the one going through this, I would have withdrawn completely. The fact that you are continuing on, researching and looking at every possible avenue to move this along, shows your determination.

Everyone suffers their own journey. Some are lucky enough to have shorter ones than others but, unless they are DCF, they DO know the pain of being separated from someone they love. This journey is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy :(

Keep strong.

Everyone suffers their own journey. Some are lucky enough to have shorter ones than others but, unless they are DCF, they DO know the pain of being separated from someone they love. This journey is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy :(

Keep strong.

I really hope you don't leave again. There are people in here who pray for you and care about you and your wife that would like to know the outcome or see your progress. We're pulling for you.. please don't let us always wonder if you're ok.

The fact that you are continuing on, researching and looking at every possible avenue to move this along, shows your determination.

ekkk forgot...YOUR MY HERO LOL - luv the fight in you and always remember one thing.......this forum is made of different type of personaltiies, people that will be content to wait it out and it will work out sooner or later, people that will give up and people that will fight for what they belive in as in i.e., writing to their senators, congress people etc.. In which ever way a person choses to defend his/her position, that is special, because if we all did it the same thing I would think that cloning had overtaken VJ. Hun you keep doing what your doing and dont ever give up, because its your make up. Someone does not like what or how you approach your situation, well, as I see it, ignore it and keep chin up and march on babes........Everyone has a say in how to do something, but when really faced with the situation, do they usually act in that manner? Wonders and go gets coffee.

Attacks are useless, information priceless. Again hun thank you for the words of wisdom and keep your faith.

Filed: Other Timeline

Yes, Susie, information is priceless.

gogo, I wondered how long it would be before you returned. It is actually good to see you back. If you need VJ as part of your support system, I would hate to see you not utilize it. You also have friends here who care about you (obviously). I myself am interested in seeing how your case turns out.

Susie speaks about information and that is what I would like to address. Your posts are confusing to me, and I apologize if that seems like an attack to you. I understand little of what you post about your 'security check' and the 'interview' you are fearing. I can tell you that occasionally, we do see on VJ cases that take longer at the petition state because of security clearance checks. We've seen some that have taken much longer than yours. Some are cases pulled at random - some are cases from certain nations pulled because the beneficiary is in a certain line of work, etc.

I see you read and research about delays in the system, and I see you referring to a different type of petition. I'm going to be very honest with you and say that is not helpful nor is it healthy for you. You can't compare a different sort of case to yours - the processing path is different. I'm suggesting that you stick with research for your type of petition and limit it to that or you're just going to upset yourself worse.

I would also like to say that I shouldn't have been so abrupt with you the other day. I've been here a while and I feel I know the dynamic of this place. As you can see we have a great potential to impact each others moods around here. My frustration the other day came from my belief (perhaps incorrect, perhaps not) that your state of mind was impacting others in a negative way. We do need to pass along correct information around here - incorrect information breeds hysteria.

I hope this next point won't offend you, but here goes - I'm not sure you actually know enough about what is going on with your case to be making some of the claims you have made about it. Some of the things you write are quite strange. I'm sorry to say that but it's true. I am wondering if you have perhaps made SO many inquiries about your case that you have muddled your information - or been given incorrect information and don't realize it? Is that possible?

At any rate, I am sorry for being nasty to you the other day. I felt you were going a little over the top and I handled it poorly.

As far as my own situation goes, it does get tiresome to be told that I don't understand a person's situation because I was blessed to NOT have to wait. That is pretty hurtful to someone like me who has remained in this community to help others. I could have buggered out after we were approved - I didn't for two reasons. I'm fascinated by this process and like to help others if I can - to pay back the help we were given. And secondly, because I believe a visajourney doesn't end when the couple is reunited. And that's just a belief I hold because I'm on this side of the fence and something most people don't quite 'get' until they are reunited.

I hope we can all have a truce about this stuff.
