It's always just hitting me, at different points of the day, but it hits me every day.

"Last year at this time we were waiting for all of this to be over, and we only had the internet and phone to speak regularly"

And it really does make me appreciate the relationship. Whenever we have an argument, we just think of how much we've been through and how silly it is to argue over how much he spent on the new radiohead album. :)

Just an example lol.

But to those of you are together with your very significant others...do you feel that way as well?

Sometimes I think having started this as a long distance relationship makes us just a little stronger than couples who always lived next door to each other (not literally but you know what I mean) all along.

Oh and PS: It took me forever to figure out how to properly spell "epiphany"...I kept typing "epiphone" into the search engines and it kept bringing up some recording company....then I went to dictionary.com and got the same thing. I tried spelling it like it is read so maybe I'd get suggestions from google...but I didn't. Finally the aim bot smarterchild came to the rescue. I felt a little silly.

I am so excited for you!

I wish I had found this place before we filed, it was a lonely process. I didn't find VJ until a couple of days before my interview.

I definitely have that feeling, not every day, but often enough. Today Bee turned to me and said, "Can you imagine that last year, we were talking on Skype until we both fell asleep at our desks?"

Lemme just say, it is nice to have someone keeping my feet warm at night.

We are closer to being together as I am now waiting for the interview date.

Larry and I have been chatting online, telephone and with cards for the past 2 years. We've met 3 times and have thoroughly enjoyed our time together. I believe our relationship is stronger for that time. We became good friends and our relationship grew from there. Neither of us were truly looking but still found that special love.

I can't wait till we can be together. I have my fingers crossed it will happen soon.

I completely agree ... definitely have more of an appreciation for the relationship after all we went through to get here. This time last year, VJ was a lifesaver. My then fiance had been denied entry to the U.S. and I was feeling SO alone. Still blows me away that I can now wake up to my hubby every morning (February will be a year that he has been here)!!!

This time last year (on or about) I got a letter from the consulate telling me my petition had expired because I had not returned my packet. I called them up in tears telling them I never got my packet. They said they sent it in August. AUGUST?? I never received it! But they were actually quite understanding and sent it to me again.

Do you guys remember first meetiing your significant others??

I remember he walked down that walkway at Pearson, and I was all shy and giggly because I was at the airport bar before he arrived calming my nerves with a little bit of wine lol. I was sooo nervous. I had never met anyone off of the internet before. I felt so goofy and lame but it all felt so right at the same time.

Exactly!!!! Except that I didn't have the foresight to drink before meeting him. He, however, was brilliant enough to bring a bottle of wine and 2 glasses to our first meeting. See why I married him?!!! :)

I remember it like it was yesterday.

I remember seeing him pulling up in the air link van and waiting FOREVER for him to pay the driver. I stayed in the house cause I had always fantasized about him ringing the doorbell.

I could see him from the window, looking at the house, looking at the driver, looking at the house, looking at the driver and I just knew he was thinking "HURRY UP!"

Finally when he came walking up the walk I couldn't help myself and I opened the door! He said "You look great baby" and I said "So do you, love" and the second he was in front of me I took his face in my hands and we kissed.

*sigh* :luv:

There was no awkardness or nervousness because I KNEW him, I had talked to him for months...there was nothing more to say, the distance was no longer between us and we talked to one another without words.

AWW, I love, LOVE! :)

AWW!! I love these stories! haha

My friend had actually driven me to the airport and dropped us off downtown after he had arrived. We went out for thai food and then we went to see the Matrix 3 at that big theater just below Queen west on John...the tickets were really expensive and I didn't know why. We got to the theater and it turns out we got the imax version of the film, and there were NO seats left except for two in the very front and on the far right. Boy did our necks hurt.

After that I took him to the black bull (also on queen) where we had a stella, and he asked to kiss me. I am very shy about public displays of affection but I decided that it was just perfect how he asked.

Every time he came up after that we made it a point to go there. It's now our favorite place to go in Toronto. <3

I was super nervous flying out to meet him - it hadn't been the first time that I'd flown to meet someone over the internet, but those had all been friends, so it was different. He brought me flowers and food for the 2-hour drive home from JFK. I got lost in the airport trying to find him, and turned around to see him walking towards me. I just walked into his arms - and knew I didn't want to let him go.

Fond memories of us driving back and forth from Philadelphia to JFK - I had to fly into JFK because of the way-higher cost and extra layover for me to fly into PHL, so Bee would pick me up. I couldn't imagine being in his shoes when he had to drive home after dropping me off at the airport... but no more of that!
