I went to see this doctor on weekends for my flu shot..I ended up asking him about the vaccination( MMR, Td, chicken pox) which is required for the medical( I got the info here in VJ).

And he was like; "what am I going to give you? a letter informing them that u already complied with all those vaccines?"

And I was like" Honestly, I have no idea yet but I can ask my friends in VJ about it."

He said I can give him a call about it so he can prepare the letter or anything.

So guys.....what is it that really required? just a letter or a certain form needs to be filled out?

No vaccinations needed for K-Visas the K-Visa is a NON-Immigrant visa.

You need the vaccination record later transfered to a supplement by a US Civil Surgeon for adjustment of status.

For most people between age 18 and 65 immigrating they are:

  • Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR)
  • Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
  • Varicella

You will get them transfered to a supplement by a Civil Surgeon in the USA for adjustment of status.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

If you cannot get your immunization records from your local Health unit, the Doctor can send you to the Lab for a Titres test- a simple blood test. They will test for what you have immunity to.

In Canada- (between the ages of 16 and 65 I believe) you will need MMR, Tetanus/diphtheria, and the Doctor (and also the Civil Surgeon in the US will accept oral testimony if you have had chicken pox.

I agree. I had to have my vaccination records for the medical examination. Whatever you do not have, they will administer you at the examination (the examination has to be done at one of the hospitals listed by the embassy in one of the Packages. They know what to do)

After the examination in your home country you will be given a copy of the vaccination form. You go with that to the civil surgeon who will transfer them vaccines to the I-693A (I think that's the form)

If your doctor has a record of when you received each of your various vaccinations, he can certainly write a letter stating the type of vaccination and the date you received it. Take that to your medical appointment with the panel physician and he/she can prepare the vaccination worksheet from your documentation. When you arrive in the States you will need to have the same information transferred to the vaccination supplement form by a civil surgeon. I used records from school, from my family doctor and from the health unit to show I had all of the required vaccinations.

I took this document to my GP. He read it, brought some of my immunizations up to date, then provided a record of all vaccinations I had received since childhood based on his British medical knowledge and familiarity with me. (I'm from the UK and have no record of vaccinations from there.) It is cheaper to do it this way than to have it done at your panel physician medical.

If your doctor is also administering the vaccinations for you, tell him to write a letter stating that you received your vaccinations. Same goes for the blood test if you need to prove immunity to chicken pox - either get a photocopy of the results or a letter from the doc.

vaccinations are not necessary, because in most cases 99% of Canadian children have to be immunized in order to attend school. Getting vaccinations that you don't need could be potentially harmful. If you can't get official records (either from your doctor or the health office) then have blood drawn for titres and take a copy of the results to the panel physician for your medical. Results usually take about 2 weeks, so give yourself enough time before your medical appointment to have them done. Don't have it done with the panel physician, because they'll charge you for everything they have to do.

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

 I honestly can't see where anyone has said to get vaccinations they don't need.
