I have no idea what to do.

I sent an I-130 to Vermont at the end of August. (It was delivered there on August 29, 2007)

I have heard NOTHING from them.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

This link shows that they have not processed ANY I-130's in over 8 weeks. (I have only been checking the link since September 28, 2007)

I suppose the ONLY thing that is encouraging is that the USCIS appears to be finally catching up on N-400 forms.

Any suggestions????

Unfortunately, it is a waiting game. There is very little USCIS will do for you at this stage :(

One thing which may be a ray of light to you is, no matter how long USCIS take to enter your application onto their system, they will honour the date it arrived in their mail room.

Have they cashed the check yet? If they have, you can look up the cashed check and see if there is a receipt # written on it. If not, you will have to call them and explain to them that you don't have a receipt. If they do have your application on file, they will tell you that they will mail out your NOA1 within 30 days (which in reality is more like 60). If they don't have your application on file, you will have to file again and cancel the first check.

This was true before the receipting delays. Unfortunately, since USCIS became inundated with petitions they have months worth of backlogged petitions which haven't even had their cheques cashed yet. These people are in limbo until USCIS get to their envelope. There is no point filing another when USCIS can't even get to the first one :(

Noooo dont cancel application or check - its just a waiting game for alot of us right now from August on, but dont do that. You will go back in line for god knows how long. The only thing they can do is put a tracer, but I think that is pretty useless right now....just hang in and check the thread for August September October filers on this./ Can you give you some laughs (which we all need right now) and also some comfort in knowing what to expect.

Cheers hun and hang in there.
