My fiance and I filed in June and have recently gone through a pretty good last month....we got our NOA2...NVC has forwarded our case to the Montreal embassy and tonight I discovered that they had received it on the 26th of November...so here is my problem....I thought we were through the last of the long waits.....Tonight I thought I would check to see how long the interviews were being scheduled out....and to my horror it looks like that at the Montreal embassy it is taking 4-6 MONTHS TO GET AN INTERVIEW date.....WHAT!!!!...I was thinking at the most it would be a month and a half...but FOUR TO SIX MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone out there had any experience with this latedly...could it be true???? Any one out there have any idea on this subject??...Please respond...my fiance and I are a bit frustrated tonight and would love any responses....

Thank you....

Hi Scott and Angelyn,

I wish I had some words of wisdom for you....we have just sent our package back to the embassy in London and someone told me it was taking 4-6 weeks to get the interview date, 4-6 months doesn't sound quite right.....I hope someone on here has some better information for you.

Good luck and hang in there. I feel your pain....we have been apart now for almost 7 months.....

Jodi

From what I have read here on VJ, Montreal is a loooooooong wait, soem have tried to have their case transferred to a different embassy in Canuck Land to speed up the process.

There has been much discussion on this topic over in the Canada forums! Montreal is taking a painfully long time to schedule interviews, although I think that they have been getting slightly faster lately...

If you have family or friends in Western Canada whose address you can use, and if you don't mind taking a long trip to attend your interview, you may be able to switch to the Vancouver consulate. They are scheduling interviews much faster. Here's a thread on the topic, if it's a possibility for you...

Just to follow up on my previous post after doing a bit more reading...It seems that Vancouver is cracking down somewhat on switching consulates...must have been alot of people doing it! But, if your fiance has ever considered moving to lovely Western Canada, this might be a good time to do it!

Of course the worry is that you make the switch and suddenly things slow down in Van and speed up in Montreal...it's like when you switch lines at the supermarket and the line you choose is always the slow one...

Yes, do check out the wonder-full peops over at the Canada thread at the bottom of the page of various forums.

I have befriended "Operator Number Five" at the Montreal U.S. Consulate.

She/he responds quite quickly to email inquiries.

They have stated more than once that the wait is 4-8 months.

8.

Yup!

I don't want to discuss the rage and frustration.

Nope.

I will just look at pretty flowers:
