I got an RFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this ######!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long does this delay things?????????????

Seems like it varies. Some people's get processed right away like Byron's and some people's take forever like Melinda, and Mel & Syl.

Ugh, I am so scared.

Dont be scared Steph...this means that once they get your information they can proceed with your approval..thats nothing to fear. God never gives us more than we can handle. If you believe in prayer...PRAY. You are strong...I can feel it in your posts.

It says in 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

In Psalm 56:11 the psalmist writes, “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.”

I hope these can help..read them when u feel afraid....We are here for you

Thank you. I guess it wasn't a complete shock. Not sure if you remember that I has a feeling the stupid divorce decree may be a problem. Thing was, when we applied, we didn't have it. The original will be here the end of the week and I have asked Darren to request more originals. I am just assuming this is the reason for the RFE, but I am not sure. I will feel better when I know.

Im glad to help...Its my honor....

If your gut feeling is its the divorce decree go with that. Im sure you are right. Just remember to send it in right with RFE in RED on the envelope to be sure its handled as fast as possible. Im not sure why some RFE's take longer than others, BUT may be that after a brief review they find something missing then ask for it. Once they get it I was told THEN they request the name checks. THats why some take so much longer...IF they get held up in that check. Or maybe other reasons...but im sure your's will go fast like Byrons. Im positive of that.

I know to well how hard this wait is...as most know...we aren't even half way through. With our "red flags" we will most likely be under close review AFTER his interview. Only God knows..but I have complete faith HIS timing will prevail and give us the long life together we deserve and desire. I know some in Cairo that are up to a year on Administrative Processing. Im terrified because of our age gap and my past marriages...we will be scrutinized. I guess time will tell. Worse is once we interview...there is no word till they finally call asking for his passport to stamp with his visa (even then, some wait months for THAT to happen). So pray for us, as we still have a long road ahead of us....possibly. God Willing we will ALL be with our loved ones soon.

Hang in there Melinda...I was once told they sometimes send the RFE FIRST then run the name checks....They had my file a week before the touches...(maybe thats when name checks were ordered) then a week later I had our approval. You're almsot at that time...hold on...stay focused....

Yeah, well...i stomped kicked and screamed, cried, battled the great green monster of jealousy just like everyone else. But Melinda....I've posted and read on the MENA forum...and to be honest..THEY scare me. After being there today I ALREADY feel my case is going to be lost in the hoplessness of Cairo AP for months and months if not a year. My divorces, our age gap, seems EVERYTHING will cause a delay...I dont get it...isn't this discrimination??? To rip apart my past? To judge my PAST life? Isn't it about security for our country?? WHAT does my divorces have to do with that? What does MY AGE have to do with it...its not like we met then 3 months later decided to file......Im very very worried about the next steps....

We are in this one together girl....hang in there...we are in for bumpy rides I think...at least according to the MENA forum

Yes we are indeedy....girl and I am right here w/u...I think for me this is what gets me is the additional waiting here..if I didnt have to consider an agonizing AP wait...ok...I can wait some more...but realistically 3 months atleast....more likely 6 or more in AP...and yes I agree this whole process is mere mayhem.....I would love to see a more standardized process..of course there are difference in certain cases...however...the huge difference in AP for ex...is amazing...some a few weeks...others waiting a year or more anywho....we can make it tog....genuinely happy for all that have gotten their NOA2...and now...gimme mine..lol.......haha....

I really hope that the rest of you who are waiting without a touch are in the same crate as myself. Am I correct that the approvals have been going from later June to earlier in June over the past week or so? If that is the case, then perhaps the reviewer is progressing through a crate in reverse order of receipt?
