Cheryl....glad you're having fun! I remember staying on U.S hours when I was in Egypt. It worked out well though cuz then I wasn't beat when I got home.

Jess......how you feeling? B/P controlled??? Glad to see the little bean growing!!!!

Oh yeah....I'm not much of a football fan, but since the Mizzou Tigers are from the town I live in, I guess I have to brag that they are #1  They even made it to the cover of Sports Illustated!!!!

My SO is from Israel. I have been there many many times and also I have been to Morocco and Egypt. My husband is 1/2 moroccan and 1/2 tunisian and I would love to travel there with him but he is nervous to do so as an israeli and thought he wasnt able to with his israeli passport but recently he became a USC so now I guess technically he could but he is still nervous. Hopefully at some point in life Ill be able to convince him, or better yet hopefully there will be peace in the ME and nothing for him to consider worrying about.

I'm thinking about doing what your husband could.. getting a Jordanian national residency and getting a Jordanian passport so I can go to Israel on the American passport and go to Syria (where he wants to go, although seeing Damascus and some other places would be cool) on teh Jordanian one. People have reported issues with going to Syria/Israel on the same passport, I guess people get touchy about that!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Morning all!

Working from home today. I woke up feeling like hell but now Ramy's doing much better so he begged me to stay home so I can get better too. So now I'm working in my robe :)

Divorced. To hell with him.

i've been to israel, egypt, and morocco in MENA so far. when i went to israel they did not stamp my passport (they do it on a small piece of paper instead) so that i would have no problems getting into any other countries in the future. easy! no need to go so far, julianne! just tell them not to stamp it and you will be fine getting into syria and whatever country won't allow you in if you've been to israel

my husband has not been able to travel anywhere else yet. but i hope when he gets his green card we will go to many places together. i think for him to go anywhere in the MENA (except for israel) would probably be easy. not sure how difficult it would be for him to get a visa for israel. or if he could get it at all. we'll see someday i guess!

Well, this is the second time this week this has happened. Tuesday morning both my daughters elementary school and my sons middle school that are about 1/2 from each other were in lock-down because of reported shots fired. There was an actual shooting in front of my daughters school last week. Just heard on the radio my daughters school is in lock down again and no one is saying anything. Pisses me off. I live in a good town, low crime rate, I just bought a place close to the schools because of this supposed "good area" and now that a group of people moved in, it's going to ####### and fast. Why won't the law inforcement people just do their jobs and get the people outta here? The word is the gangs from St. Louis and KC are moving to this territory. :protest:

Im sure we can find a way to do it, he just has this fear so I dont know if it will ever happen :(

I know that his friend (also USC israeli immigrant) goes to Petra alot when he visits israel. He also visits Egypt ie sinai. Not sure what he does passport wise. I did all of my other MENA travelling prior to going to israel for the first time so it hasnt been an issue for me.
