Whats does Touched mean in peoples timeliness, I've dug around searching but have no idea - somebody give me a clue

Touch means that you sign up on the USCIS website to track your case. Each time the file is opened by an immigration officer, the date is updated to reflect that date. It is under the "last updated" column. The "RFE Trick" is to get through directly to an immigration officer by going through the automated system as if you received an RFE notice, this will cause your file to be opened when they check it and it shows up as a "touch".

In my case, my file was "touched" when I went through the "typo error" function in the USCIS menu. They opened it and noted in my file that my wife's last name (maiden) and my last name were reversed on the NOA1, and put in a note to correct that error.

You're a London DCFer, right? Us DCF folk don't get touches, as we aren't in the whole USCIS sphere of influence and instead have it all dealt with at the USCIS branch at the Embassy, who don't offer online updates. So don't worry if you haven't had any touches -- it's totally normal.
