You should get the letter in a day or two so don't let your mind go wild. If you provided the proper missing documentation you should be ok

"Approval notice sent" is usually the case status when they send an approval, even after an RFE. If they send you a denial, they don't necessarily want to tell you that via CRIS. It makes sense if you think about it. if you are approved, they can tell you and you would be happy and wait for the mail. If they tell you they denied you, you would call and ask why they did, but the regular misinformation line people could not tell you, you would have to try to get through to the service center and they might have to spend considerable time to explain the denial to you and have to deal with people trying to argue their denial on the phone... but this way you will wait patiently for the mail not knowing the decision, and then get a very detailed reasoning why they denied you and what your next steps are without clogging their phone lines. The mail will contain a very thorough explanation if it is indeed a denial, so they want you to read it instead of calling.

I don't ever remember anyone ever saying on VJ that they saw a "decision made" status and receiving an approval. I do know a couple that saw that status and was denied. Hope for the best though until you get the mail.

:help: help! please! i just checked my status and it says Current Status: We mailed you a decision.

On November 20, 2007, we mailed you a decision on your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow the instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, please contact customer service.

what can this mean? please help if anyone knows? can this be a denial?

It means they made a decision one way or the other. You could call USCIS and talk to a customer service rep, they might tell you what the decision was. But based on what you've provided there's really no way to know.

What was your RFE for?

rfe was for his divorce papres and his birth certificate....we are in shock, we are panicking and we don't know what to do...has anyone heard of this before? does anyone know how a denial looks like?

thank you everyone, hope i will have more news soon

Sounds pretty clear cut, should be an approval granted the divorce decree and birth cert are good to go.

We wish you the very best Laura!

We hope not, but even if it is a denial, it is not the end. You always have more options available, including the K3. I've read a lot of people who have trouble getting the K1, only to marry and successfully obtain the K3.

Hi Laura and Ken

I am the wife and my husband is the USC. I am so very sorry for my short message to you without any explanation.

We started applying for a K-1 visa and couldn't obtain my original devorce paper because they had lost me in the system in denmark when they went from manual archieve to computer archieve. It was very unlucky for us.

I had this message online that they had made a decision on my case like yours.

Ok the decision was a denial but they told me that I could start over the case if I could get the prove or another statement that I was divorced.

I payed the divorce office to make that statement and our case could start again. This gave us an extra 4 month of waiting.

I then came to USA and applied for a workpermit together with the adjustment of status. Our lawyer messed it up because he did put a wrong code into the workpermit form.

That was the second denial and the message online was we have made a decision.

That ment that we could start over with the workpermit. We did and before we knew I had my greencard in hand and they stopped the workpermit proces.

So everything is fine now.

I am very sure that your situation is to be changed like mine. I really hope you will get their letter soon.

If you wanna hear the decision you should call customer service on 1-800-375-5283.

You are very welcome to type to me again with more question.

Best luck to both of you.
